Fucking hell that one where he takes the ball over his shoulder on the wing and controls it first time, midway in his own hald and runs three quarters the length of the pitch is brilliant - sign him for that alone.
We need at least three top strikers.

I said it when i first saw that game and i'll say it again:

the defending in that run is tragic
I'd be livid if someone did that to our defenders.
Compare his goal and walcotts assist.

At least if he joins us he'll be playing under a manager who loves playing the youth unlike RB

I was hoping it was just that all the videos were in slow motion.

Will he develop as much if he joined us and doesnt play week in week out?

Would like him here though.
He'd be better than Eggnog, who I don't mind, but let's face it, he's clearly not in the managers thoughts and would probably attract a fee of about £5m.
I'd be amazed if anyone offered us £5m for N'gog.
Someone would, he's got goals in him and could lead the line for someone like Stoke or Sunderland.
If he had goals in him he would have a career here.
Yeah ok.

or something

You up late Mark - I wonder how you know a player like this is more likely to succeed than not. What do top talent spotters note so they can reduce risk. What's the calculus? Obv skill but ...what else..

He is pretty much a stronger slower version of Torres, with the same injury problems. His contraol and finishing are already top quality and in another year or two he will be a big unit but for anything over $10m then its a serious risk

I like him and would be pleased to see him join the club but not for $15m

Slow and injury prone, at the age of 17. For all his potential, he could end up like Dean Ashton.

Also, we have a project in Carroll already, why do we need another? A third striker is obviously a necessity, but I'd rather it be someone more established, and more importantly, someone with pace. Maybe someone like Vucinic or Remy, who we've been linked with.

Yeah good thinking boys, why would we want a young injury prone player with bags of potential, I am glad you lot were not around when Owen and Gerrard were in that position, you would have shown them the door...................
You have to take risks now and again. I would not criticise anyone for having a shot at Babel, my criticism would be we should have realised he was not going to make it and off-loaded him much sooner.

regards

Is he really worth the risk though Vlad, i mean we're talking around 10-15mil for this lad?

I personally wouldn't count him out due to his injuries, i just don't see what all the fuss is about with regards to Wickham though.

There is a tendency for physically overdeveloped young English players to be valued at a lot more than they're worth. Micah Richards was supposedly a €30m player a couple of seasons ago. What would you say he'd go for now?

I think like this too Bunny. Messi would have been cast aside in the English system.

Well we risked £10m on Babel some years ago when the transfer market was a lot different from now. I don't know in all honesty I have not seen enough of the lad, but at £10m it might be worth a punt. I am sure whatever deal anyone does is likely to be a reasonable initial fee with add-ons anyway. I don't mind paying a bit of a premium for British players, at least they don't have the language himesick and family issues the continentals do.

About the same as Bale, Smalling, Lennon, Ramsey, Walcott, Young etc had done when they were bought for an over-inflated fee at a young, inexperienced age.

Good answer. Need to take the chance. Some of them players could very easily be playing for us had we not had them two cowboys in charge at the time.

Bollocks to all this injury prone nonsense..

Gerrard was injury prone as the best of them when first broke into the Liverpool side, look how he turned out...

*awaits some sarcastic git to say yeh and he is injured... again*

I teach a lad called Pablo Iniguez, who plays for villareal ( and has just got his agent to take out the 10m buy out clause cos he wants to be able to choose clubs... speaks fluent English... would "LOVE" to play for Liverpool etc etc)

Anyway anyway anyway... so Pablo's just had his full debut for Spain under 17's a few months back and it was against England, he scored incidentally but England won 2-1, so i asked him who out the English boys was top notch he said Wickham and then stopped and said...Bwoah... Sterling is unbelievable, unstoppable....its hard to translate the word bwoah... its kind of just a sound... its means well... Bwoah...

Maybe we should get wickham as well to make sure 😉
