I'm pretty far from being a RCDNWer but that's unfair given that he did revamp the youth setup. He brought in well respected guys like Borrell and whilst the first few rounds of signings didn't work out (Hobbs, Anderson), towards the end of his tenure we were signing the likes of Sterling.

I think he could've given one or two of the guys he had a bit more of a chance though (now with the benefit of hindsight none look good enough but sometimes things can work out differently if you give a player a chance at the right time).

I think he was 18 around that time. Pretty big to get prem appearences imo. Anyway I don't want to dwell on the past, mistakes were made, its a shame. He was our best player in the reserves.

He was, but for whatever reason he's never really made that transition, I do think a lack of opportunities is part of it, I also think the difficulty in finding where he fits is another, he's not got the vision to play between the lines and he's not got the goals in him to be an out and out striker, that said he's technically good, has good awareness and fits in well with our pass and move philosophy, it's just whether there's enough end product.
