I attended an interview last month and the response that I got was quite positive. In subsequent emails with the hiring manager, I was also given the impression that I had a very strong chance to get the job. This job I was interviewing for was very interesting; and it also gave me a chance to move out of my industry where I was getting stale and disinterested.
Got the news yesterday that I wasn't selected, so naturally I was very disappointed. It wasn't that they didnt like me; but there was someone else who had more experience. I got the news in the evening yesterday so was feeling shit the whole night.
I guess I am feeling disappointed that I am stuck in a dead end job with little prospects and have been looking to leave for awhile now. Unfortunately, I have not been called up for interviews for the jobs that I were interested and I really thought I could get this job.
How do you guys deal with such disappointments?
