Defoe

Don't know what to think about the possibility of Defoe coming. He's got the goal touch we're missing, but he hasn't seemed to be able to maintain his best form for long enough to hold down a permanent first team place elsewhere.

I think he's a cracking little player, he's a bit like Bellamy though in terms of having purple patches, but that's what's got Spurs the points sometimes when other players have been below par. He's quick and he scores, just what we need at the minute. I'd imagine it'll mean big wages though and a relatively big fee, which when you consider his age and everything else might not be the best.

We're also linked with Moussa Sow today. Cole making his move permanent and us paying Lille some money.
Fenerbache apperantly had a 12 mill bid accepted last week but he turned them down.

Wouldnt mind him tbh.

Re Defoe, once again the timing is wrong. Should have bought him when he was at Pompey.
At 29, high fee and wages - no go.

Defoe would be disastrous, i'd rather buy Carroll twice.
[/quote]

He wouldn't be that disastrous, at least he can run.

Yeah, I like Defoe. He's one of those players that you feel can putthe ball in the back of the net whenever hegets a chance.
Been good this year, but last season he was horrendous. Could do with some first team football.

The wanna-be wags and glamour models of Merseyside are limbering up as we speak.

Just in case.

We would probably get Defoe for a lot less than 70M though.

I'm not really arsed about Defoe, but Summo's gone a bit potty in here.

Are you on the White Lightning already ?

That's assuming they look at sky or six crazy minutes!

It's tha internets !

This shit is going viral.

But seriously, they probably watch The Sky, wondering how it got up there.

I quite like Defoe. I think he's a 20-goal-a-season man if he plays consistently. Definitely a 'confidence' player, though.

He wasn't quite good enough for Spurs the first time around and he's not quite good enough for them now.

Why is he going to be good enough for us?

I agree with this. The Spurs fans will know best, but my impression of Defoe is he blows hot and cold. Some games he looks like the dog's bollocks, other games he doesn't contribute much.

Obviously it's difficult to know what goes on behind the scenes, but he hasn't had a good run of games for about two seasons now. Perhaps he's a poor trainer, perhaps he has attitude problems, I don't know. What I do know is that last time he was settled into the Tottenham team and playing regularly was a couple of seasons ago and he scored 29 goals in all competitions. Since then he's been a bit-part player. If the Defoe of a couple of seasons ago is still in there somewhere, we could really do with someone like him right about now.

Full of insight that article.

Was thinkin the same

Now we're linked with Defoe, not at all predictable. What, with us needing a goalscorer and Defoe being out of favour at Spurs.

He scores a goal roughly every 2.5 games. Couldnt see him getting in our team.

Ha

He'd be great for this season. Next season and beyond he'd be a problem. I suppose it depends on price.

I'm not sure he has the consistency to be Jermaine man for us. If he could find that, then I'd Defoe be interested.

Ahahahahahaha.

Hes got Neymar chance of scoring for us than Andy Carroll has!

Speculation on players shouldn't include those of a certain age. We are not going to be successful by merely filling short-term needs at LFC

This doesn't sound like the tweet of an owner contemplating buying a twenty nine year old striker
