Our best player this season by some distance. Not all parts of his game are equally polished, but his strong points are so exceptional that you can easily build the rest of the midfield around it. It’s funny how everyone decided last season that he was the weak link that will be replaced by Wirtz and instead he made himself undroppable.
Interesting how in the interview he said he prefers to play deeper in midfield. I always felt that’s his preference and he now confirmed it. Doesn’t mean Slot is obliged to play him there - team interests come first and Szobo is very much a team player.

I have 3 games to catch up on in the MOTM threads but no doubt he will be more than double the points of Gravenberch who is in second place.
Zero rotation? Has he played the same team twice in a row this season yet?
How often do you see Gravy, Szobo, Salah, Van Dijk, Konate get rested? Or even subbed?
This. Is going to be slots big problem now... He's gotten back to back preformances using basically the squad of last season but the problem is he's lost players from that squad of players so he's not got players in those key areas that he trusts.. The new players have yet to settle...
And we've spent +£400 mill.

What's the point of Endo, Gomez, Chiesa etc, if they're not going to play. I'm not demanding starts, but how about trying to relieve some players during games? Some looked knackered yesterday. Slot is back to using 3 out of 5 subs.
Yeah, it's be nice if we could afford our best players more time off, but the alternative is to play Gomez, Endo and Jones more, so...
I wholeheartedly agree. So why are we keeping Endo around like a mascot? He should have been sold and replaced during the summer.
I had high hopes for Bajcetic, but going by last season and Slots pre-season excuses, Bajcetic isn't getting a minute with the first team.
Yep that is the problem... These are slots players that aren't working out (so far) for him..
Going back to rely on a reduced squad of players is really only a short term fix. Feels like we are a house of cards and if one piece falls it all comes tumbling down.. Imagine if Szobo gets injuried?

been saying this about him and macallister for a couple of seasons. it probably applies to gravy now too and that’s why we need an extra midfielder.
endo is not it, i can’t blame slot there. jones should be it but can’t stay fit and in form.
Badger's a strange one. Seems like the kind of technically gifted central midfielder that Slot seems to like. But nothing indicates that Slot is interested in him at all. He is injured though, isnt he
I think Endo should be getting a few minutes alright, but he's not the answer. We do need another midfielder, but I think we already brought in too many players this summer.

He’s showing he’s integral to the team. I don’t think we can afford to move him from that AM role, and our challenge will be who covers for Gravy, Macca when they rotate. Once we move Szob, everything falls apart.

Stepped up a great deal this season after long periods in the last 2 of unproductivity. One thing though you can never question is his commitment to relentlessly press all night, and the engine in the tank he has to do that is super impressive.
Shooting a lot more from range which is what we've been waiting to see, not sure he's ever going to turn into this goal machine/assist king fans now want from him on a more regular basis but what he's been showing this season is more than satisfactory.

He's been absolutely bosz this season.
Yeah he has. He's the hardest worker in the team and fast becoming the general. If he could start converting these chances that are being put on a plate for him then yeah, that'll complete things. I thought he was shit for large parts of last season, but he only tuned 25 a couple of weeks ago. This is his time.
Hopefully he isn’t ran into the ground by Feb.
