Imagine if Salah comes back into the team, someone's got to tell him "Erm ... Mo, Dom's on pens from now on." Salah will end up killing someone.

We’re still lacking firepower, but that was a proper improved performance. If we’re going to stay alive without Salah, you build the team around Szobo. What a player.
His mentality is unreal.
Turns up every single week, no fuss, no hiding. He’s only going to get better when this Liverpool side finally starts clicking again.

The gaffer needs to find the best position for Szobo we can't continue to SLOT him between AM,DM,RW,and even right back .Despite all this nonsense he still is our POTS so far but if we play him his best position his influence on the team is second to none. So where is his best position?

Worryingly though. he was anonymous in midfield last night.
That should be his best position.
For all his gifts with the running and the passing, I would expect a mini Gerrard, but his numbers are not even close. He rarely even makes runs into the box these days. At times he plays just as deep as Gravenberch. At least one of our 3 midfielders need to produce more and Szobo looks to be best equipped but he is just not doing it.
I think the Hendo comparison is spot on. He works incredibly hard, makes the occasional good pass and goal contribution, and great at pressing the opposition. I think he is best, like Hendo, as the midfielder not the furthest back on not the furthest forward. He is not productive enough to play closer to goal and in the middle position he can cover the most ground, which is his strength.
When he plays for Hungary he's their main man, the source for much of their creativity, takes the free kicks, penalties.
He's more of a system and team player for us. That's great, we need that ethic but I always think he's capable of producing more and become much more influential in our attack. He has the ability to produce far more goals and assists than we are seeing.

He does, playing for Hungary and International football is not at the same level as Liverpool and EPL.
I do think he could do more, but we need more productivity regardless.
Last midfielder we had gave interviews on the back of nothing was Curtis Jones.
Hopefully he shows up in a big way for Arsenal.
Agree he’s captain material, but get a quick intelligent defender next to VVD and we’d get several more years out of him. He may have declined a bit, but he’s being shown up far more than he should be at his level simply because he’s playing alongside a thick cunt. I’m not writing off VVD. He’s still incredibly good. Just not as good as a few years ago.
