Very underated IMO. He's still young and I think we can get him from Tottenham for a decent sum.
Would fit quite well in Brendan Rodgers system.
I also think he'd be happy around some South Americans and Brazilians at Liverpool.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a surprise move for Tottenham misfit Giovani Dos Santos, according to a report in the Mexican media.
The Reds have just begun a new era after appointing Brendan Rodgers as the successor to Kenny Dalglish on Friday, and the club is expected to have a busy summer recruiting new players as they look to fulfill the wishes of the owners and become a Champions League force again.
Rodgers was keen to take Dos Santos on loan while still in charge at Swansea, and according to ESPN Deportes – the Mexican branch of ESPN – the Northern Irishman remains interested in signing the Mexico forward now that he has taken over the Anfield hotseat.
Dos Santos appears destined to leave Tottenham this summer after playing just 46 minutes of Premier League football last campaign, and while it originally seemed likely he would move to Spain, the reported interest from Liverpool could tempt the 23-year-old to remain in England.
Dos Santos spent the second half of the 2010-11 season on-loan at Spanish club Racing Santander where he impressed enough to almost gain a move to Sevilla, before Spurs cancelled the deal at the last minute.
The former Barcelona player, who has one year left on his current contract, has revealed he will hold talks with Spurs to discuss his future, but has admitted he wants to move on before the start of next season.
"[Tottenham] have given me answers but none convince me," Dos Santos said as to why Spurs have refused to sell him up to this point despite clearly not being part of Harry Redknapp’s plans.
"Because, at the end of the day, they haven't given me minutes on the pitch. I respect the club and my contract, but my intention is to leave."

He wasn't good enough for Barca, Spurs or Ipswich. Why do you think he would be good enough for us?

Have you seen him play for Mexico? I think you'd change your mind when you see how influential he is for them.

Also we should get Afellay, he's obviously very good and I don't think Barca can demand to much for him. Get those two and we'll be playing some fap worthy football.

I think we should do more Mascherano type signings. With that I mean players who obviously have the talent but aren't being played by their respective clubs.
Krasic also belongs in this category.

Its very lazy journalism, Rodgers wanted him on loan before became our manager, 2+2=5

Not good enough.

I agree Modo. I always liked Dos Santos. He is a bit like Aquilani, has both the technique and the brain for top-level football, but just unable to settle in England for whatever reason. If Rogers can make him feel comfortable here, we could have ourseleves a huge bargain.

And again....

Didn't mean to piss you off.
My point is, just because a certain manager doesn't rate him or rates other players more than him, doesn't make him poor.
Mascherano was playing for the reserves at West Ham when we initially loaned him.

The Henderson example was just a way to show how wrong a manager can get it sometimes.

Dos Santos has been with Spurs since 2008, but has only made 17 appearances for the Premier League club since his arrival from Barcelona, and has long been touted with a move away.

"We were very advanced in negotiations with Villarreal so that Giovani could join them next season, but with their relegation everything has been halted," Vicente Montes told Mexican newspaper La Afición.

Dos Santos found success in a loan spell with Racing during the 2010-11 season, in which he helped the Santander outfit avoid relegation with a splendid personal run of play.

His performance, coupled with a successful run in the Gold Cup as well as participation in the Copa America, seemed to signal a coming transfer from Tottenham Hotspur. A deal to send him out of London, however, never materialised.

With limited first-team action, Dos Santos had been loaned out to Championship side Ipswich Town and Turkish team Galatasaray as well as Racing.

Addressing persistent rumours linking the player to the MLS or the Mexican Primera Division, Montes was clear: "Gio's idea is to play in Spain. He wants to play there because he's done well, he made progress and he wants to restart his career in that league."

Having scored in Mexico's previous match vs. Bosnia, he's gotta another today, against Brazil (Olympic squad).

Dos Santos is a very decent and more importantly a creative player. I'm not sure that Spurs will demand too much. Worth a pun.

It's the kinda risk I'd be up for taking ... the skill is there. Maybe he can be next year's Scott Sinclair?

Very talented but just a bit inconsistent, has the attributes to be very creative tricky player

judging by our reported intention to sign that lad from swansea i do not imagine we will be in the market for any exciting players.... even ones who clearly havent impressed so far on these shores.
