It's all been said. We were shit and deserved nothing from the game, but at the same time both of City's goals in the first half were very fortunate and the officials robbed us of a legitimate goal, so on another day we may have managed to get back into it.

Pre kickoff i said citys game plan was to pack the middle to stop our midfield. I was hoping the plan would have been to find other ways to get the ball to wirtz, but apparently not. Apparently it's impossible to think of other ways to deal with a congested midfield

Slots set up/tactics in the 1st half were the problem.. We seemed to be set up to contain them more than anything , like we were trying not concede a goal in the 1st half.. Yes haalands goal was a fluke and with a bit of luck vvd's goal might stand but after that was overturned we just shit the bed ..
We were better in the 2nd half but we couldnt be much worse and had to try go for them but also city having a 2 goal lead could let us have the ball and try hit us on the break..city were streets ahead of us even in that 2nd half. Apart from gakpoo's miss we really never looked like scoring..city won in 2nd gear..worst thing is I think we made city look better than they are ...

do we need to examine slots famous less intense football where he can bring us less injuries across a season and rotate less without issue? that probably comes with a less rigorous preseason too.

Because I think we need to differentiate between this being just a really bad spell where everything has gone wrong after winning the title, and Slot having no fucking clue and fluking the league and subsequently losing the plot and the dressing room.
Him winning the league gives him that stay of execution and a chance to see if he can turn it around and determine whether last year was a fluke or not.
I'm leaning towards him being a dud, but I'm not absolutely certain yet.
