Post Match EFL wk11 Man City (A) 3-0 Nov 9th

Deluded. What's Sunderland's and Bournemouth's excuse? just pure delusion from our fanbase.
We don't need time to gel
Why drastically change a team you just won the league with?

Replace Nunez? Fine. With you 100%

Replace Trent? Necessity. Although Frimpong isn't it.

Replace Jota? Unfortunately necessary too.

Was £400 mill really needed to do this?

Who did he sub on today?
Gomez, Chiesa, Gakpo and Jones.
Please point at the new signing.

I told y'all we'd miss Diaz when he was gone. He's the one you didn't mention and I think we'd still look like a team if he was here. Didn't even bother replacing him.

He was one of the few players who could do something unpredictable, could beat a man 1v1 with some skill/flair and he also gave his all every game. He was patchy in front of goal, but we also moved him around in our formation a lot.

I get it that he wanted to go, but we didn't get anyone remotely close to his profile, and i'm not even sure who there is like him we could have targeted.

I didn't mention him because he didn't need to be sold. I'm ashamed to say that I was OK with him being sold because I thought we were signing a replacement.

Because I think we need to differentiate between this being just a really bad spell where everything has gone wrong after winning the title, and Slot having no fucking clue and fluking the league and subsequently losing the plot and the dressing room.

Him winning the league gives him that stay of execution and a chance to see if he can turn it around and determine whether last year was a fluke or not.

I'm leaning towards him being a dud, but I'm not absolutely certain yet.
This is me as well... I had lingering issues with how we struggled with teams last season.. Always just doing about enough to win but sometimes we relied to much on Alisson when scores were 0-0 or hanging on late in games.. We never put anyone to the sword bar spurs and they lost 22 games last season and couldn't defend.. We generally struggled to create good chances and we're clinical when those chances fell to salah and Diaz and gakpoo.. Obviously not nunez... But in general it would be a poor 1st half and a improved 2nd half..
I had hoped with 400m investment that we would improve but the football is still the same sterile attacking football and that is worrying

Bed in new players? Is that really the excuse now?
If Ali was fit, we'd only have two new players on the pitch today.
He wasn’t so as it stood 30% of the team was different and we are 10 games in. Not to mention over the course of the opening 10 league games we’ve had loads of new players playing in varying positions and formations.

What did our new keeper have to do with us losing? Honestly, Dreamy you're grasping at straws now.
It was all well and good when we beat Real mid-week but we just got outplayed by City with barely a shot on goal and you're willing to give Slot a pass?
Btw this isn't peak De Bruyne Man C.

This is something that is pissing me off is seeing rio not getting used off the bench.. The lad needs actual game time to develop so if he's not ready for the 1st team give him game time in the u21s.. This has to be stunting his progression
Slot logic:
Step 1: Never play a certain player.
Step 2: Play him for 90 mins in a league cup game and expect him to play as if he's match fit and has been getting regular minutes.
Step 3: Blame loss on said player and banish him to the sunken place.

I never said he can do no wrong but I believe in nearly 16 months in charge it’s the first time he’s been beaten by 3 goals and the first time his team hasn’t scored in the league under him.

Away to city is always a tough game and they look hungry after a bad season last year.

Don’t forget City were awful last year while transitioning.

Slot deserves time to bed in the new players and have us firing again.

I still fancy us for a good crack at the CL.
This is the 2nd time in 4 games we've been beaten by 3 goals

It's the 2nd time his team hasn't scored in the league Btw and you have to admit that we have struggled to create really good chances in games going back to the 2nd half of last season

We have 5 other premier league sides who know the formula to beating us in champ lge

How long do we have to wait for players to bed in? When does it become enough is enough...

It's all good to be supportive of the manager but blind faith supporting doesn't make you some super fan or a liverpool fan of old
There is nothing wrong with questioning slot and his tactics and what we are seeing domestically has been utter dross.. And no the villa game wasn't some masterclass.. It was a good result, a deserved result but as per usual we lacked any real creativity but got gifted a goal and controlled the game afterwards

You said we had 2 changes. I corrected you.

We got well beaten by a Pep away from home who are well on their way back to being the dominate force that has won 6/8 titles.

Slot doesn’t get a free pass, I’m just a bit more grounded in the reality of the situation.

Away to City is always a very tough game.

We replaced half our starting 11 (mostly out of necessity) and were always going to need a transition period unless the new boys hit the ground at top speed which was always unlikely.

Wirtz - I always said was a huge risk and would take time.
Isak - has been injured or unfit so far
Kerkez - is taking time to adapt
Frimpong - mainly injured
Hugo - been great but can’t do it alone
Dash - also been great but is a step down from Ali.
Then you have our players that stayed.
Konate - has been overall poor bar a few notable games
Virgil - has been a level below
Bradley - injured for the most part til this week.
Ali - injured
Macca - injured/unfit/out of form.
Gravy - suspended/injured for a number of games
Salah - well below the insane standards of last season and struggling in a new look formation.

I’m not saying we don’t need to improve and Slot has to get us winning consistently but there are a host of extenuating circumstances that most seem to brush aside or overlook because they want him gone.

He deserves time to get it right and top 5 with a deeper run in the CL will be enough for me this season to bed in everyone.

Our form isn't going to get us into the top 5. You say this now because you think things will turn. If they don't, you will think he doesn't deserve any more time. If he continues to lose games as he has been, we won't wait until we are mathematically out of top 5. We will extrapolate. To do otherwise would be fucking odd.

Our form is absolutely disastrous. We are the worst performing big team in football.

Of course if we drop way down he won’t be given more time. I’ve said that myself last week but at this stage very little seperates the chasing pack. I fully expect us to climb back the table and stay there and if we don’t then it’ll be tough for Slot but so far I thick there is enough reasons to give him time to turn around.

He will or he won’t be here and many of you will get your wish.

Hopefully Hetiga comes back now he’s gotten the boot!
When have I called for him to be sacked?
Ive only ever called for two managers to be sacked, bodgers and owl face and I was very vocal that I didn't want that owl faced twat getting the job in the first place..
I have said I hope he can turn it around but he isnt immune from criticism and on current form it's justified..
Alot of people have legit issues with his style of football going back to last season , i have to say I do find it boring, I think it lacks creativity

We are dropping like a stone, so yes, the hope is we turn it around, but the deeper depths we plumb the more we'd have to put together a hell of a run to resolve.

We are a third of the way through the season. Our performances for many months have been getting worse and worse. Occasionally we seem to get ourselves up for the right opposition and for a big game. The vast majority of the time we are shit, and the trajectory is that we are more and more shit. We were better in the first third of last season than the second, the second than the third, the third than the beginning of this.

So while I don't think we should be cunts about wanting him out, if someone does want him out, and isn't a cunt about it, my mind doesn't exactly boggle.

There was a part of me that was furious about how we played against Madrid, like, everthing about how professionally we approached that game hasn't been in evidence for a while.

The way we approached this fixture last year I found defeatist. The way we approached PSG was defeatist. The way that we threw the Carling cup away was a resignation to defeat. We need to win 4 of the next 6 or better, and if I'd have shown you the fixtures 6 weeks ago, or a year ago, or two years ago, or most of the last decade, you'd have told me we'd have won all of them, and you'd have mostly been right.

If we instead continue as we have, despite some poor opposition, and you still say we should keep him, then that's fine, but it isn't based on anything. I'm guessing the people who do make the decision will indeed be basing it on something.

It’s the manager. We bought fantastic players. We only need Wharton, semenyo and Guehi. The manager can’t maximise these players. He’s got Ekitike. Salah and Wirtz look like league 2 footballers

I also don't think there's a way out of this for Slot, it doesn't look like he has what it takes.

He's not been helped by the circumstances tho.
£446M are the circumstances. He’s had too long to sort out the red flags we’ve seen since Jan. He’s not cut out for a big club, he’s really not.
