Match Thread EPL - Bournemouth (H) - Friday 20:00

We still need to be better with the ball in our attacking third. Or be ready to hunt the ball back if we lose it.

When you’re 2 up and cruising you need to be much much better without the ball, we looked like a bunch of bellends all over the pitch, fucked no lube. Subs came on and none of them looked like they knew where they were supposed to be. Can’t expect to need to score 3 every game to win.

Plenty of time to bed the new guys in even more before the next game. Tricky tie tho.

It was a very bad show, Bournemouth controlled the whole match, the most worrying matter is the leaky defence which I don't expect to keep a clean sheet at all! Wirtz was awful and not worth £100 M, very much the same for the king Salah he is not worth £400 K a week wages who was shit! If it wasn't for Chiesa we would have lost the game (one shoot one goal)? New striker and CB is essential at once, and above all a Major team improvement is required at once, the other top teams they are far stronger than us in all department!

I wonder if it's a reaction to the criticism they've been getting for taking too long over decisions.

Something must have been very wrong from the start with the training they've all been given.

What training? They were given var. They just winged it. They circled wagons. They didn't routinize anything about it. They received criticism, they responded to individual bits and pieces, but it's all going through the same horribly managed piece of shit "process."

Every time we get any window into how they are working, you hear something with less professional communication than I had when playing capture the flag in halo after a few bong rips in college.

They need someone who knows how to run things to run them.

One of the biggest mistakes with VAR was not bringing in expertise from sports like rugby or cricket, where video technology has been implemented successfully. Instead, we’ve had Howard Webb and his merry gang of fuckwits fumbling their way through it, making massive calls while effectively learning on the job in a multi-billion-pound industry where most managers are never more than three months away from the sack. Bar automated offsides, we're no better now than when we started. Carragher saying VAR didn't even look at, or discuss, the panicked handswipe at the ball sums it up; a never-ending shitshow of ineptitude.

I'm quite sure I read somewhere that the Premier League has a two-year VAR training programme. I don't know how long it's been in place, but every official who might be on VAR duty at some point is put through it. I remember wondering how our lot seem to be so much worse than those of other countries with such a background behind them.
