Our standards are so low now that this seems acceptable this season. Small improvements, shot counts, attacking wingers who don’t really create or score in what we are used to, midfielders who don’t so their do or do it quick enough, full backs who are at least defending better but don’t do enough in attacking play and subs unable to impacting games. Also, that penalty was irresponsible. If he is to take over penalties then he has to find a better ball striking then smacking ever pen. Our xg was 3.4 or something but honestly didn’t feel there were enough clear chances.
Without Hugo and Wirtz, we would have no penetration as everything good goes through them. Our next set of games are against quality of teams different to last 12 (apart from Arse) so that will be the true test of this cautious approach. This season is exactly like 2004 final GH season but then we had a prime Gerrard who dragged us through at 4th pos. We aren’t going to do that this season with this lows risk boring crappy defensive footy when we can’t defend for 90 mins.

I disagree. I think they lose focus, concentration, relax because they think they've already secured/won the game, and then their level drops a bit which exposes their great weaknesses. If Slot were actually to do that and tell them to "slow it down and play more safe" then in my opinion he should be instantly fired. Such managing would perhaps even be below Hodgson's level. I think Slot is working very hard to get this team to play with high intensity and at the top level at all times. But that is hard to do.

Gakpo on corners who hits it higher than the Anfield roof. The short corner routine that sees Szobo get it on his left for an inswinger that resulted in us dropping the ball down to midfield instead. Insanely poor coaching.

Our corners are genuinely pointless. There's no expectation anything will come from them. Which is strange given the size of our players and the technical ability of the takers. It's quite the feat of incompetence, to be fair. You'd think even by the law of averages we'd score more, but nope.

But it's Gakpo. What do you expect from a player who knows he has no contenders for his spot? He won't improve because he hasn't to.
Could very well be. He was our most valuable player for years. And the main reason for Klopp's and Slot's successes. Remember that Klopp couldn't do shit before obtaining Alisson. And remember our previous keeper.

Gakpoo is a big reason why kerkez doesn't look as good going forward as he should..
The number of times gakpoo gets the ball down the wing and holds the ball and turns in towards the box allowing Burnley to block him and get numbers covering people and ignoring kerkez and when he does pass it to kerkez he was no space to run into as they had someone a few yards off so he had to play it back.

These are the games that should be expected as a win. Yes we did enough, but if you can't stop 1 shot on target being a goal then you get what you deserve

Having viewed the highlights - one of the problems of this season has been that we have an incompetence when it comes to carving out clear chances in the final third or incompetent at finishing - 70% of the time our front players are doing impressions of Darwin Nunez. The lack of pace up front and trickery is missing. If anything this transfer window we should have got a low block breaker that moves the opposition back lines - that would turn these draws into wins. The only other alternative for the rest of this season is - if we score first then we ourselves should just play a low block game and just defend.
So goddamn frustrated watching us these days .. we looked ok in that first half but, as soon as we took the lead, the same anti-football, sideways passing, slow the game down shit started. What is required is high energy, get in oppositions faces stuff that ensures that we will ultimately break the opposition down. So sick and tired of seeing our players stroll around without a care in the world. No question that this comes from Slot's instructions.

I noticed this at the time. He seemed confused and unhappy.
What is so obvious, though, is how the players do not move off the ball. Everything grinds down to walking pace and players don't run in behind or create angles. It's bizarre.
On top of that, as I keep mentioning, just a simple couple of passes breaks our midfield "press" (pah! If you can call it that) and everyone shits themselves and runs back to the edge of the box where they rarely put any pressure on the ball. It's so bad. We don't track runners either. I genuinely have no clue what they're practicing in training.
There is decent exercise in dancing on E for hours, not eating.
