EPL Week 1 Other Games

is grealish finished? he started really early didn’t he? lots of miles on the clock, another raheem maybe

I'm gonna take a page from the Momo playbook and say, fuck Tarkowski. I haven't forgotten that tackle on Macca.

Yeah, that’s obvious. But when this get penalized and Senesi doesn’t, it’s alright to question the hand ball rule.

Not sure if it was mentioned in the match thread but the Taylor/Areola incident came to mind with how he handled it.

Its also important to note that both went with on field decision.

Which it should be in subjective cases.

Did I think Senesi was a denial of a goal scoring opportunity? Yes.

Did I think Tarkowski handballed it? Yes.

Did I think the Man U keeper was fouled? Yes.

All 3 went with on field decision though. As long as they are consistent with that approach all season... but you know all 3 next week will be role reversed.

Kavanagh has changed his tune regarding the hand ball rule.

Has been for a couple years now, there's plenty of examples like him that completely disintegrate from the game for various reasons....Wilshire, Rashford, Alli, Sancho, Ox. Even guys like Hazard and Bale were done at 30 and tbf if I'd earned the money they have by the time I was 30, I'd piss off and enjoy the finer things in life too.

Finer things like 12 pints of carling and shots every night.

Especially Cunha. Didn't Sesko only get like 20 mins?
Yeah but in those 20 minutes he looked very clumsy. Also, when United were making a quick counter-attack and Fernandez or Dorgu got the ball Sesko made all the wrong runs into space. Maybe it’s a lack of playing-time together but a striker should have a good instinct where the midfielder is gonna//wants to play the ball and Sesko instincts were bad.

With Cunha and Mbeumo up front with him and Fernandez playing the passes I still expect Sesko to score 10-12 goals this season but it wouldn’t surprised me if he was another Hojland.

Gyokeres was the one I hoped the Arse would go for, as I reckon they may be our closest challengers yet again. No Prem club went in for him during his time at Coventry and that can't be a coincidence.

As for Sesko, yes, I think it was his first start. Admittedly he wasn't too impressive, but it's easy to forget how young he is and IMO he has a very high ceiling indeed. For him a lot will depend on how well they can knit that front three together.
I saw Gyokeres play for Coventry a couple of times and he impressed. It was obvious he was good enough for the EPL but I was thinking for West Ham, Everton, Bournemouth etc.

I never saw him play in Portugal but these was little evidence on Sunday that he is anything more than a mid-table forward. That said I think he will improve Arsenal simply because he is a traditional target man and will get on the end of chances made by Odegard, Saka, Martinelli etc. Havertz and Jesus were never in the right position to finish chances so I expect Gyokeres to score about league 15 goals this season but I also expect the Arsenal fans will want to replace him next season.

That’s Sesko every time I have seen him which is not a huge amount. Prefer Nunez over him any day of the week.

Not PL related, but I see Trent stunk the place up for Real and was subbed after 68 mins.
The less said the better going forward.

I was hate-watching last night. Didn't bother posting about him, but yeah he didn't play well at all.
Poor technique, poor defending even poor crosses. Honestly he reminds of Beckham in the latter stages of his career, just standing around on the right side pitch outside the box spamming crosses.

Yep, pretty anonymous performance. Was clapped off by the fans though. That won't last for long.
