Sorry I’m late, dropped off at the end there it was so fucking dull

But it was a win regardless how shit WH are

We played like we have done for the last 10 months, more of the same slow tepid garbage. Play like that against a proper side like Sunderland and they'll turn us over. Few players came back in the XI and stepped up. Surprised how little fight West Ham showed, played like a side already destined for the championship.

I think the team has worked / fought alot harder today. West Ham were shite but we were the one who kept them at bay. Konate for example, was much improved.

We had a number of clear cut chances in the first half, the point blank save from the keeper, Wirtz's shot and we still end up winning 2-0. We deserved the win.

The negativity here is amusing. We were coming off a losing streak, one of our worst. 1-10 in goals scored / conceded in the past 3 matches. WH didn't lose in the past 3 matches. We were playing a Nuno Santo's team, which usually does well against us. What kind of performance were people expecting?

Unimpressed but we didn't half need the three points any which way they came.

We looked better without Mo, which is worrying. Szobo had a good game on the right but he was less involved than usual. A few players were marginally better but still nowhere near the levels they should be at.

Glad Wirtz led to the opener. He's very silky but a few weeks ago he'd have been bullied off it and we'd have been countered. Isak also looked slightly sharper and slightly more arsed. Gakpo scored despite being fairly poor imo.

Need to turn it up significantly vs Sunderland midweek.

Yep. I didn't need to be impressed today. I needed to see a side ready to compete, solid at the back, and able to convert a chance or two.

That's what we got and hopefully it will be a platform to build off of in the next few weeks.

Isak decision validated even though I didn’t agree. same with Gakpoo. Salah decision validated. Overall great result. Let’s build on it

And finally - all we are sayin’ is give Cheese a chance.

We were better, but we were still poor.

Wirtz linked attack and midfield better than anyone else this season.

Gomez assured at right back, and that also meant Konate was less thick.

Overall the right steps. But this is the first one of many that need to be taken

I feel a bit like like when you've got a big wash on and you're half expecting the washing machine to break because it's been making funny noise, but it gets through everything and nothing went wrong. It's not exactly brilliant and it's hardly worth talking about but you've got that out the way for now and you won't have to do fiddle with it again until the next time you shit the bed.

We benefitted for having a proper defender at right back (Konate will be relieved) but also because said right back had some pressing and protection in front of him for the first time this season.

What a fucking surprise.

I’m all for repeating the same against Sunderland.
