Match Thread EPL West Ham (A) November 30th 14:05

The pair are named in the starting line-up at London Stadium after recovering from respective fitness concerns, with the Reds making four changes from midweek.

Joe Gomez also begins, while Alexander Isak leads the attack. Hugo Ekitike is fit enough to be named among the substitutes.

Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Isak, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Gravenberch.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Endo, Salah, Chiesa, Jones, Ekitike, Robertson, Nyoni, Ngumoha.

Ekiteke on the bench. Madness.
Cody Gakpo playing but not Chiesa. Disgraceful.
Glad Salah is on the bench though. The tell will be if he gets called on before Chiesa

Atmosphere is non-existent. 5 Liverpool goals would certainly liven it up! Wirtz looks as though he has been given a free reign and he looks good on it apart from that last attempt

How in the fuck can it be 1 min of injury time when the entire game was stopped for Aly being injured for ages

I don't think Ekitke is the answer here, or if is going to be then he needs to be playing off the last defender and be a poacher. This isn't a game we need someone to drop deep. We just need some cunt to put it in the net.

I haven't watched us in 4 games.
West Ham don't come off like a good team.
Thoughts nonetheless:

The team defensively looks very solid. Unsure if that's because of West Ham or not.
Nice to have JoeGo back. Always like him.
Konate wastes too much time on the ball. Would rather he's dropped once a Rb is healthy.
Macca looks better today but he still seems slower than usual.
The interplay between Gravy and Wirtz is great.
Clearly there's unfamiliarity between Cody & Isak, but they're playing ok.
Really should be 1/2-0 to us but a clean sheet is a nice improvement on the last 2 games.
Let's win this 1-0, and try to gain momentum.
I hope Slot sticks with the current team a bit longer.

West Ham are awful but threat of counter-attack is still there. You can tell confidence of VVD and Konate particulary is low.

Wirtz and Gravy our best players.

Gakpo and Isak clearly in each others way. Gakpo wants to cut inside, Isak wants to drift left and cut inside.

If we can keep our possession, I'd consider subbing Gakpo for Rio (not Chiesa because he's more likely to cut inside too).
