Post Match EPL Wolves (H) 2-1 27th December 15:00

Positives

3 Points
Frimpong played 90
Wirtz off the mark

However.. same old same old.

Mac Allister should be no where near our first XI at the moment.

Jones slows it down too much, but was needed at the end.

Decent enough first half. We needed to move the ball quicker at times, but the two quick fire goals were well taken and incisive, so there's little point nitpicking. Unfortunately at HT Slot either bored them to tears or dosed the half time oranges in sleeping pills. The fans nervously calling for the final whistle summed it up.

Only Jones showed any real game management and it was a good job he did.

Worst side to ever grace the Prem and we’re clinging on for dear life the whole 2nd half. We’re a bunch of pussies and it’s because of this weak minded head coach. It’s a relief these days, whenever the full time whistle goes.

We can probably just copy + paste pre/match/post threads these days. It's all the same shit.

I figure it's not just me that's basically waiting out the 90mins to see if we get the 3pts or fuck up again. All the fun has been drained from the whole experience.

Some good things in the first half. Otherwise, dreadful.

It’s interesting. Under Klopp there was no blame game. When players made mistakes it was part of the expected plan. People make mistakes.

Now when a player makes a mistake everyone’s arms are up and they look around for someone to blame. Maybe it’s me, but I think is definitely a cultural change for the worse for this team and it’s making us less adventurous.

I tuned in at 68 mins and watched us under siege from the bottom of the table team. At Anfield.

He is from Holland. Isn’t that Weird.

The only excuse I can provide is that he’s turned it around defensively and we are getting results and this is the first step before we start flowing better again.

Come on now, we where shite but "under siege"?

Wirtz ran the show (esp. in the first half) - top class player.
We hit the post twice - a little unlucky.
Why are we so bad at defending set pieces? Virgil was crap again today.
I thought Ali could have done better with the save - you never just push it straight out again, that's asking to have it tucked past you.
I thought Kerkez had a good game - even had one or two good crosses in amongst the poor ones.
Bradders doing Bradders stuff. We miss him not starting.
Frimpong showing Mo what a winger looks like.
Jones did well in the 2nd - not so much in the first (thank goodness he was the only one on a different wavelength).

Sucks in a breathe : then there was Macca and Ibou. And Slot, not getting them playing on the front foot, allowing them to sit back and not press, and thereby giving Wolves all the momentum.

I’d rather get one of these hot poo right backs we’re linked with in and give Macca’s CM position to Bradley to make something of…

Was that the first time we actually didn’t give up 2 goals with a 2-0 lead? That might be positive, except they should have leveled with unmarked header on the 6 yard line.

I know it's the time of the year but I don't think having a Christmas dinner at half time was a very good idea
Ah that reminds me - I've got a half eaten Panettone and some tubs of Tiramisu. Now which one to demolish first ...
