Suarez.Has there even been a player pimped out by his agent this much who failed to attract any real interest?
Suarez.
I am absolutely baffled if those tweets about "negative reports" are true and to be honest it would certainly give me clear indications that whomever we've got scouting the Dutch League/Eriksen isn't the right one for the job.
There've been suggestions about his handling of pressure in big games, and some have been true, as he's mostly looked off the pace at Int. level for Denmark. He has never looked off the pace for Ajax against the likes of Citeh, Real etc. mind and this is what counts imo. When he's playing in a team in a central midfield position and where his teammates have got a lot of flair themselves - unlike a few in the Danish national team of late - you will struggle to find a bigger talent in the world of football. He doesn't have any real weaknesses but loads of strengths.
I've made the comparison before and I am not afraid of doing it again, he's in Isco's class talent wise, and could one day find himself in the hunt for European Footballer of the Year (there's a long way and much can go wrong I know, but such is his talent imo).
With regards to his attitude, yeah he's like the polar opposite to Suarez in most ways....
PS With all this said and done, whenever we "lose" out on a major signing, Henrikh, Costa, Willian, these days, it just makes me more confident that Eriksen is the one we want. I am a Liverpool fan to the bone, hence it's in my nature, the early Season optimism/deludedness.
Where would he fit in our current lineup, the_khl?

His best position is the no. 8/10 spot mate. In Ajax he's the left midfielder of the two in front of the DM. As in:
................Lucas............
Gerrard................Eriksen
He can also play the role himself, with two holding midfielders, however, in Holland, Ajax are often facing a brick wall of defenders so a lone AM can often find himself rather isolated.
Rodgers seem to demand more energy and running in that role though. Can Eriksen provide that while doing his thing, or will the current tactics need to be altered to accommodate him?
Have to say he's looking to be an attractive option as the window winds down. If nobody swoops in, and since he hasn't signed a contract extension, we could land him on the cheap.
Eriksen gets through a lot of work so that shouldn't be an issue.
What will end up being an issue though is he fact that we don't seem to want him.
I don't get why everyone's - Liverpool, Milano, Spurs etc - have dropped their interested.
Something is up ... and I'm really really curious as to what, because the player is obviously supremely talented and seems to have a good 'ead on his shoulders.
Someone is going to get him for 10-12 million, or a Bosman, and is going to have an excellent, angry and motivated player on their hand.
I keep seeing 'after the Willian fiasco' & 'now the window is nearly closed' as a prefix to why we should get him.
That's ludicrous, & the kind of thinking that gets you Downing.
I've not seen anywhere near enough of this lad to know what he's like, but as many others have said, if he's that good, why hasn't someone bought him in a market that seems hugely inflated?
Either he has a fatal flaw that's putting clubs off, or there's already been a deal off books with a top club & everyone knows they stand no chance.
