Not really wetting the Appetite imho...

Group F

Austria v Hungary (17:00, Stade de Bordeaux)

Portugal v Iceland (20:00, Stade Geoffroy Guichard, St Etienne)

Why is there no early kick off today? Bit of a bastard, been enjoying my mid afternoon footy fix.

Currently trying to explain to the wife why wanting her to finish work an hour earlier than she was already so I can watch the England match in full is like pulling fucking teeth. I keep explaining that were I in work I'd have booked the day off but she keeps saying that most annoying phrase 'it's just football'.

Hungary have looked half decent, knocked the ball about well and took their goal well.

Norn Iron took 4 pts off Hungary in the qualifying groups, but here they are putting the tournament 'dark horses' to the sword.

Nemeth just come off, he was tidy enough today.

Great finish for the second goal

I think that it's safe to say that the Austro-Hungarian empire is finished after this result.

In one of the Euros preview program shown here in the US, Bobby Martinez had Austria as one of the dark horse surprise teams. Guess that prediction doesnt look that good now.

Depends on your point of view. If they manage to achieve anything from where they now find themselves, they'll be some dark horses all right.

I've managed to snooze through about 49% of each match so far (with the odd exception). That reached a record 90% for Austria vs Hungary. It may be 100% for Portugal vs. Iceland ... unless they brought me bags of Liquorice.

Ditto. I tend to watch major tournament football in an easy chair in the sitting-room, and when I do that it's a safe bet I'll end up in the land of nod.

I never let logic, rational thought or the danger of being proven wrong in the immediate future stop me from taking potshots at past or present Everton managers. 😉
