Decent enough race. The more interesting stories were down the field, Lawson securing a P6, and two Saubers and one HAAS getting points. Norris destroyed the field in quali and had enough to manage the race. It would have been interesting if Oscar had pitted straight after Norris.
The race felt done after those pit-stops.
Williams and RB had nightmares. Felt a bit for Max. Nothing worse than getting wiped out at the first corner, but the RB car wasn't firing much anyway. I fear for them next year. The more Newey has stepped back from he car, the worse RB have gotten. It's hard to see them bouncing back with a dominant car now he's left for good, hence Max keeping his options open.

I thought a 5 second penalty would have been fair for Oscar. It was definitely a penalty though, you can't do that when its dry, nevermind when its wet, so can understand the 10 second penalty.
Then he bitched about Lando to give the place back. Hahaha. Poor.
The thing is a Tory boy with a British passport got fuck all for it. Another driver with a British passport benefits today.

Oscar had double the PSI reading vs Russells, and decreased his speed from over 200kph to just over 50 on a wet track.
It was dangerous and rightly penalised.
Tory boy didn't do that, and it was a dry track. Red Bulls complaint was opportunistic in trying to get a win. A classic Horner tactic.
It’s almost the same thing. Reading the notice from the stewards it does say suddenly brakes hard and reduced speed in the straight. Yet today they added the pressure to the notice. The only difference is Russell was deliberately trying to get Verstappen a penalty. I doubt Piastri was intentionally trying to cause any impact, whether physical or licence points damage to max.
Had Russell been penalised I doubt Piastri would’ve done it today. A Brit got away with one and a kiwi didn’t.

Almost, but not really the same. Double the pressure and track conditions were the main difference.
And 100% Piastri was trying to force Max onto the wetter part of the track (wasnt trying for damage, albeit was a risky move). His tactic was there to see, as soon as Verstappen goes past and has to hit the brakes, I'm gone.
You mean since Newey stopped working on their car.
There’s been a lot more churn than just Newey. He would be part of it too.

It was a bit dull after the track dried. Sod all chance of overtaking as too few heavy braking zones
I'm pretty grateful the reg changes are coming in next year because this McClaren rocket ship would have likely dominated another a couple of years. There's the odd race where Ferrari/RB/Mercedes can out perform it, but over the season that car and driver line up are pretty much untouchable. It's a hell of a job they've done over the last 4 years. Sadly this year has been predictable from the opening race and there's a sense of just going through the motions. Oscar is demonstrating that he isn't just a driver that can take one plucky Championship, I think he has everything needed to take multiple over his career. Completely unflustered, ruthless when he needs to be, humble, causes no drama in the team and extremely consistent. He's a team principles wet-dream and it's mildly funny watching Zak Brown conflicted face as he gets more familiar hearing Australian national anthem then he ever imagined.
After an abysmal start, Norris had a great race to win that. Ironically, it was his bad start which put him on the strategy to win it. A mixture of the lock up on 69 and traffic made sure Piastri didn’t have enough to pass him.
It looks like that’s the end of Hamilton. You can’t be at the elite level with that kind of defeatist attitude. Father Time has caught up to him it seems.
