Fa cup pre match thread - Oldham

This & the coach incident last week highlight the major downside of having your ground in such a fucking shithole of an area.

Didn't the club contribute to the area around Anfield becoming a fucking shithole? Anyway, those reports of aggression, throwing stones at the bus and a stabbing, make me a bit uneasy. Still it would be a dream to visit Anfield one day.

Hint : wear red & don't travel with the away fans.

I made sure to tell my girlfriend last week that not all of Liverpool looks like Anfield...

Hope the victim ends alright.

Well, I don't want to see someone else get assaulted either. Doesn't matter to me whether they are wearing away colors or not.

I've only seen a handful of incidents of violence whilst watching Liverpool home & away, it's very much a rare exception rather than the rule, hence it actually getting media attention.

Wouldn't suprise, plenty of little cunts knocking about there nowadays.

It's still gonna get portrayed in the media as being a Liverpool fan that's done it though. And we will be accused of somehow trying to become the victims in all of this. I've already seen that much over twitter.

Not good this, not good at all.

at least 4 of them arrested for attempted murder. The person who got stabbed is in a stable condition though so thats good.

The sooner the council stop pretending to actually care about run down areas and actually do something other than order buffets for Joe Anderson something might happen about it

Whilst I agree to a point, it's almost an impossible job. Kensington is being redeveloped more successfully than I imagined possible, with parts of it actually looking habitable, but the price of the houses increasing with that has meant the tenants are being pushed towards Anfield & Tuebrook, & it's already noticeable in my area, with three houses in my street now having people from Kensington living here, seemingly cos the rent is cheaper but the area still nicer. As a result we desperate to move cos they're fucking scumbags & it's only gonna get worse.

It's as much a social problem as it is a geographical one.

Yeah that happened to Fairfield where we used to live when I was a kid. Do one area up and make others worse

We have norris green being redeveloped one side, Kensington/tuebrook on one side & lower breck Rd on another, so it'll only get worse, we can't afford to keep the house long term anyway, as soon as interest rates go up we'll lose it so we may as well cut our losses now.

Anyway, this isn't exactly in topic!

You should, its pretty safe.

Just don't look anyone in the eye, say something bad about Carra or take the "5 minute" walk back to Lime Street.

What happened with the Hull bus?
I saw the players stood outside the ground waiting for the bus chatting with fans and there was no agro at all.
I also saw the hull fans depart and there was absolutely nothing going on.

Bus got bricked and smashed up in Norris Green. Check out Hull City Ultras twitter feed.

It was in norris green?!

Wow. I went to pick some fencing up for our allotment that my mate bought & asked me to get for him, only telling me where it was at the last minute, the cunt.

I was fucking shitting myself, it reminded me of a glaswegian housing estate I had the pleasure to visit once that the police refused to go to.

Apparently so mate, I don't think it was right by the ground.

I'm just hoping that the teenage Scally that did the stabbing was an Evertonian cos you should see them all over twitter today. All fucking holier than thou.

Cunts. We are from the same city fucks sake.

Me and my girlfriend want to come down for a game later this year, I'm starting to get worried reading this thread, two middle class southerners like us would be an ideal target.

Maybe it's different for you lads who still live in the city, but that Twitter cr@p doesn't particularly worry me TBH. It reminds me of getting kicked on the footy field because the opposition know you can play. Having a pop at us is basically their (justified) inferiority complex poking through.

No chance! If you have walked around the non tourist parts of London then you are more likely to be approached by dickheads than Liverpool IMO. Plus taxis are dead cheap.

Cheap? You're fucking kidding right? It cost nearly tenner in a cab to mine from town & it's only about 4 miles.

Liverpool is exceptionally friendly tbh, most people who visit for the first time make a point of saying so. I remember avvy saying he got help finding his way everywhere just cos people noticed he looked a bit lost & offered to help.

I'm used to getting in a taxi here and expecting to be leaving a 20 behind when i leave 🙁 which is why I usually avoid at all costs!

I remember I was once walking around one of the shopping centres near the station when I was about 16 and someone came up to me to ask what I was looking for which I don't recall ever happening before! Love the city and visit when I can!
