His decision making's been poor. Very unlike him. Maybe he's carrying an injury? Right now his presence is leaving the defence really exposed.
Brazilian attacking players often fade early, but their star defensive players often enjoy remarkable longevity - Fernandinho, Gilberto Silva, Thiago Silva, Lucio, Dani Alves, Cafu etc etc.
I think 22 reflects the age he signed for Spartak Moscow (don’t think he actually played for them) - he played in Brazil and for Porto B at a younger age - he then went back to Brazil before signing for AC Milan.
Might not include his appearances in Brazilian football as Wikipedia has it at over 700 appearances.
