Anymore rest for Gomez and he'll be in a coma.Rest Gomez too.
Yeah Tuesday was my first gym day after Christmas and on Wednesday morning I could barely put shampoo on my hairI've never seen it used as a football injury reason before - but I imagine "tired" or "fatigue" were used in its place. Those who pump iron will be familiar with a good bit of DOMS, usually the cause of not being able to walk down a set of stairs the day after leg day
Yeah that's more like it. Slot was bigging up the FAC so he's not going to risk playing too many youngsters but also needs to rest senior players. Maybe Szobo for Macca. Or Gakpo for Frimpong (Chiesa RW).-------------Mama-----------
Ramsay Nallo Gomez Robbo
-------------Jones------------
------Nyoni-------Macca-----
-Frimpong-Chiesa-----Rio---
I can't be the only one..If Ekitike is DOMS or a fatigue induced small tear he shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch.
In regards to Rio. This has been mentioned earlier but a reason to why we’re a bit careful with him. It’s at least some part of it.

Looked decent against palace but took a couple of weeks to recover I believe.Never seen Ramsay play is he any good ?
It’s not so much about the gap to the next game as the gap from the Arsenal game which would have been a huge mental and physical toll. Can’t afford a key injury. We play on Monday. The game after is on Saturday. We can afford to risk a few first teamers for this one.
I'd say go with a mixed team.
Mamardash
Ramsey
Ibou
Gomez
Robbo
Jones
Nyoni
Macca
Chiesa
Gakpo
Ngumoha

Rio is starting tomorrow and it will be great to see him in a team with several first team players. Really hope he turns it on.
Slot said at the press-conference that his approach will be very different from last year - pretty much all the first-team players will be involved, from the start or from the bench.Slot needs to learn from his mistake in selection this time last year - he needs the cavalry on the bench. He started Gomez, which was fine, but once he got injured and was subbed off there were no senior players in defence and we lost the game as a result. We'd have won that game if Gomez had played 90 minutes, but the options on the bench only weakened an already-weakened team. If he does the same again then it's clear that he cannot / will not learn.
Start Gomez, he's more than good enough, but we need Ibou or VVD on the bench (to be used in case of emergency only).
Same throughout the team, but the biggest risk is at the back.
That said, I find it difficult to be arsed about this competition, it's lost its magic for me. All this stuff about "the magic of the cup" with shite teams putting weakened PL teams out, everyone gets excited and then City pulverise some shite team in a one-sided final because some minnow like Man United got an easy route to the final and didn't have the quality to make a game of it. And no bugger other than the fans of the two teams bothers to watch. Yeah, fucking magic that is.
Let me guess - if he plays well then the forum will be "See, Slot, you bald fraud, you should be picking him week in week out", if he flops then it will be "FFS, Slot, you bald fraud, this is on you for not playing him more often"Rio is starting tomorrow and it will be great to see him in a team with several first team players. Really hope he turns it on.
I think he learnt from the league cup too. Another game where the kids were thrown to the wolves. Nobody wants to see half the stadium walk out on 65 minutes.Slot said at the press-conference that his approach will be very different from last year - pretty much all the first-team players will be involved, from the start or from the bench.
