I loved the Torres 4-1 it was one of the most memorable league games of the Rafa era, but ultimately it was in vain as they beat us to the title that year.

The other matches were reasonably competitive football games to varying degrees. This wasn't. This was humiliation. United fans paid 60 quid to be taught how many levels ahead Liverpool are, spent 90 minutes being mocked by our fan base (the ones that stuck around), and recognised we sympathetically let them off the hook after going 5-0 up. You couldn't write a better script.
