Fekir MK II

I'd say Gvardiol is pretty good if you close one eye to the price. Olmo as well. Cunha.

Like any club you buy from, they either turn out complete duds or superstars.
Gvardiol maybe but expensive as hell.
Cunha was AM. Talking about direct transfers. Olmo yes, only one I can think of. Rest a bit hammy for a club focussed on build and sell. Germany’s Brighton.

I think we clearly need a creative player, whose job is to make clever passes, dribbles and runs that allow us to break down low blocks like Forest and Arsenal. It's okay if this guy doesn't run 12 km every match, as long as he does the business when it matters.

Cherki
Simons
Wirtz (lol) .

All good choices. I think we will target Ketelaere, which would also be a great choice.

I pasted from Google AI which copied incorrectly from somewhere. Anyway, you'd think is about 7km per game, in actual fact its just over 3km per game. So the accusation he is lazy is very true.
Frankly that figure has to be wrong too - there's no way a pro footballer is averaging 3kms per game (none, zero, nada), when walking I'm at 4-6kph (so non-stop walking I'd cover 6-9 kms per match), he'd have to be stationary for 80 mins per game (considering his sprints and runs). VvD and Konate are amongst the Bottom 4 in the PL for distance covered per match (8.8 and 9kms each).

It's not really a gamble when you learn and study the player and his potential which is what we should be doing, plus what's the alternative? Spending 60m+ on duds like Kepa, Pepe, Mount, Maguire, Pogba, Lukaku, Sancho, Enzo, Grealish, Doku, Richarlison, Solanke etc and all these others who turn to shit? Players that were being creamed over because they saw the price tags they were going for.

Either way you're going to have your share of good and poor signings.
We can all pick out the big money failures (for a number of reasons inc. just not being suited to the team), however big money usually means a much better player and a much higher chance of success (this isn't even disputable). No idea what the ratio is but 3:1 (3 a success and 1 a failure)? Wild guess.

However to find those gems from low cost options you'd need to be buying a number of them (and be lucky too) - and then you'd see that affect on the team's performances, of buying too many average - good young players and not enough at the top level (there can always be outlier seasons - all of those clubs have had them - and then sold the players that put them there).

If your club's aim is to be mid-table and survive by buying players, with the odd re-sale bringing in top money when sold to keep you solvent and fund the next round of buying, then it's a good formula for the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Wolves, Forest and Villa (the clubs you named).

We are not one of those teams - and again this isn't disputable (cf. City, Arsenal and ourselves).

Really? I thought his was the last offensive face of the four I mentioned. He's definitely less punchable than Delap too

Someone on here has said that Simmons is who our data lot want, don't know if true, but for me he should be no. 1 on the list and will be a guaranteed success in my view. He also knows how to get best out of Cody. Its a no brainer for me. From what I saw of the Euros I thought he was the most active and lethal no 10 from a central position. So to me it makes 100% sense that he has been identified as a top candidate by our data nerds.

He can play on the right too

Hmm what are we looking at? He scores a decent goal but for the Auxerre goal he was doing his best Trent impression - 20m outside the area, not making any attempt to get back and throwing his hands up.
His run thru the Auxerre defence before laying it on a plate for Lacazette

TWICE.

Talk about creativity

Tonight will be a good audition for him.

If he can do it against that shiteball United on a wet, windy, Thursday night in the Europa, my appreciation of him will double.

It's crucial for their shiteness to continue, that Amorim doesn't fluke CL qualification.
