Le Progres suggest that the friendly between Liverpool and Lyon next month hints that a deal is on the cards again, with the two sides set to discuss a move for the player.

Saw some suggestion that he's uninsurable.. Seems strange but can't imagine us committing big money if that's the case

Its been mentioned the fee could be as low £20 million Euro...

Surely not...

It's like when you buy a really expensive piece of kit, like a phone, laptop or car on eBay.. but it's broken and really cheap so you're just paying for parts.

We'll use him to fix Ox and Gomez when they break down.

Add in Lallana, Matip, Sturridge (RIP), and Lovren and we should be able to keep 2 fit footballers among them.

Well he did single handedly take down Man City at the etihad in the Champions League

If 15 million as reported.. I'm sold

Whatever we discovered in his knees must be some nasty shit. That being said, for £13.5m, rotating him heavily, we might be able to make something of this.

If he's happy as an impact sub should we need to manage his workload, that would be epic. We need quality in the squad and if the price is such then it is a no brainer. Almost the same amount as his agent sponsored Edwards' london marathon for!

Yeah, would definetly sign him for anything under 20 mill. He can have Studge's old wage in his contract, 120k. Sorted.

Fekir is a left-footed AM/forward who likes to cut in from the right – just like Shaqiri. Forget financial considerations: purely in football terms would you be in favor of buying Fekir if it means Shaqiri will have to leave? Why or why not?

Yeah I don't think we'd see the ROI that shaq offered in his first 12 months , id rather see that money go into a forward that would offer a Salah / mane level of threat in their absence

French journos saying we're interested but has to be closer to 30m euros and not 50 plus from last summer

Anyone saying Shaqiri will be moved on, doesn't understand the strength and depth this squad actually needs..

Fekir can also play in the front 3.. If we lose 2 of our forward 3, our squad suddenly looks thin...

We need a strong squad to challenge on all fronts...7 competitions we are in next season...

Surely Shaqiri wouldn't ave to move on, we could shift Lallana instead? We need a deeper squad for sure.

Well, Lallana is quite different – more of a midfield presser rather than someone providing cutting edge like Fekir or Shaq. Would it make sense to have both Fekir and Shaqiri in the squad? I'm not sure, can't see them being on the pitch together much and both would provide similar things off the bench. Fekir is a bit more comfortable playing through the middle and doesn't look as lost as Shaqri does when he finds himself on the left flank, other than that they are quite similar, even down to the physical build.

D Silva and De Bruyne seem to do just fine when played together and carving out opportunities for others. Fekir would be a good signing. We need options and we really don’t have that many.
