Van Bommel would be good for the squad and for some steel in midfield on a one year contract. Junior Hoilett, Jefferson Farfan, Olic and Raul would all offer something going forward. However, our history with bosmans is suspect!
 
I would only take Clyne and Hoilett. Granted I haven't seen a lot of Clyne but Man Utd and Newcastle have been sniffing around him all season and he comes with the Pesam approved lower league player stamp and he was also selected in the Championship Team of the Year tonight. I'd be happy enough to have Kelly and Clyne at right-back and off-load Johnson next season in order to free up funds for improving other parts of the team.

I've been a huge fan of Hoilett's for a while now and i'll be disappointed if we don't at least make an approach.

Clyne looks like an excellent prospect an United have been sniffing around him for 2 seasons now. Palace said they would sell for £5m last season but of course they had realised that his contract was running out and he didn't seem willing to sign a new one. My gut feeling is that he's off to United to replace Fabio.

I would love us to get Clyne & Hoillett.

Maxi -> Hoillet

I'd take a punt on Diego as well as long as he isn't after crazy wages / bonuses.
 
I'd like to think Diego could do a Van Der Vaart for us, but he'd probably end up doing a Cheyrou/Le Tallec

maxi greater than hoillet? I think hoilet is exactly the type of player we need to break down stubburn defenses but I will conceed that maxi is ideal when playing away from home on the counter attack.

But....we could do so much better as well mate. Otherwise we don't progress and we're back at square now ! Squad player at best in my opinion.
 
Have we not learned that there is no such thing as a free transfer.
Firstly they usually command a significant signing on fee, at least a couple of million.
Then instead of being on 50k a week they are on 80k a week on a five year contract.
And we normally loan them out after a couple of seasons and end up paying half of their wages for the last three years of their contract.
When was the last decent freebie we got?

No doubt, but there's no harm in adding quality to the squad

I'm not averse to him being a squad addition. There has to be better out there and we certainly need better. Learn from our mistakes buy better players. Hoilett does not improve our first team.

AH!

hoilett is the type of player we should be going after, we need to be going for direct players that can take on players and stretch teams. we are going through the middle to break teams down and it simply isn't working. he is free, it's an absolute no brainer.

Yes i agree, lets sell suarez and get Hoillet in as the new creative force in the team. Will improve us dramatically..... seriously I don't get the big jizzfest about this lad. He will do well at a midtable.... oh wait. I'm i right in sayimg he could of signed a precontract with a team abroad?
