Right - on to the next one.

Good news for this is that Danny Ings is ineligible and his presence in the team has a positive effect for them. They're in reasonable form though but their style lends itself to leaving gaps so that might do well for us.

I'd want to see Fabinho start here for sure and wouldn't be surprised if Lallana got the nod against his old team too.

------------Alisson-------------
TAA---Matip--VVD---Robbo
---------Gini----Fabs----------
------------Lallana-------------
Salah----Firmino-----Mane

If Hendo over Lallana than I expect Gini to be the more attacking of the three. Anyone else expecting anything different here? Shaq played a blinder last time out against them so would love to see him start but he is way down the pecking order it seems.

Also very keen to see one of Ox or Brewster make the bench. I wonder when Gomez will start to re-enter the fray. CL might be a better pace for him to return than PL.

Agreed. Will be first game in ages I miss as i booked in a Friday night dinner a while ago thinking it was a safe slot. Mission trip from Liverpool too, especially on a week night. Grim.

I'd play the same team apart from the midfield three, all of whom looked tired on Sunday.
Certainly, I'd start Fabinho, but then who to choose from Lallana, Shaqiri, Wijnaldum, Henderson and Milner?

I would give at least two of Sunday's starting midfield trio a rest, so fully expecting Lallana to start too.

Not sure what the score with Shaqiri is, and Keita's hardly worth mentioning.

City have Cardiff midweek so that GD is going to likely look fucking hideous come Friday, it would be boss if we could reduce the margin against Southampton on Friday.

The closer this gets the more I feel like City win the league on GD...…

Cardiff game could go either way. 1) they put up an incredible defensive performance and frustrate City or 2) they are still rattled from Chelsea game and capitulate to lose by an exponential amount of goals.

At this stage I think we have to accept that we won't end up with better GD and need to win it on points.

Warnock and Cardiff are going to bend over like roofied hooker in a trucking lay-by

Yeah - i have that feeling. If they'd held on to beat Chelsea 1-0 i think they would have put up a fight against City. With Burnley & Saints winning plus that defeat I think they'll attack too hard and get smashed.

Colin Wanker said yesterday, after he finished whining about the match officials, that he would play the U23s against City

Bournemouth and West Ham did the same, yet the City fans moan about us.

Hope Cardiff goes down if they play an understrength team.

Or they could kick the shit out of them.

I mean Cardiff have to win or they will get relegated is the hope we are aiming for (but hoping it doesn't work with Southampton obvs)

I’d love them to win 5-0 but if they get beat there is that little silver lining.

They're great. Much better than Monday night and Sunday I reckon
Monday nights are shit too.

I like weekend kick offs. I've never liked league games any other time. It's always been nice & easy to separate your time, even as a kid, when all your footy is on at the weekend.

I hope they keep Aguero rested as a precaution after his early sub at the weekend. [/clutching at straws]

Friday night away to Southampton. They didnt exactly think of the away fans when they set up this fixture.

I’d have loved a Friday night game in my early 20s. Straight on the last from work watch the game then into town to try and smash a bird. And fail. Sleep it off Saturday morning and afternoon then back to town.

Now I’m nearly 40, married with 2 kids. My life is over. Sigh.

'All my footy' for the past decade has just been Liverpool games. I honestly don't think I have watched a full match that didn't involve us since the 2010 world cup.

So Friday night games are great for me. Home from work, a few beers and dinner while catching up with the missus, and then a giant spliff and the game. Rest of the weekend free to do what I want without planning around the match.

The last time we played on a Friday was the Chelsea match and a load of cunting rugby fans came into the bar on 80 minutes and stood Infront of every TV like they'd never heard of bar / TV / sport etiquette before.

Good excuse for a few drinks though

Yep. Up to about aged 27 I'd have loved Friday night games. Now though, it's just a pain in the arse. Means our friday night is fucked up so she's got a cob on, then I have to end up not watching some of the games on the Saturday or Sunday in order to do some shit to make up brownie points I've used.

In my ideal world every league game would be a Saturday 3pm kick off.

Yep That would be perfect (CL games too) as it would be either 22.00 out 23.00 over here and the wife 's bedtime.

First time I’ve seen someone use “got a cob on” in a sentence since that video where a kid teaches Klopp spouse slang. Now I know they didn’t just make it all up for laughs. Boss tha.
