Friday Night Lights - Saints (A) - Pre Match

I know it's a stupid comment, cause like, "who doesn't?", but I'd really love an early goal for us in this game.
Southampton will probably be happy with a draw.

They’re also fighting for survival. It will be tough.

Whilst they can get relegated it won’t happen. Cardiff are 5 behind, a far worse goal difference and only 6 games to go. No way they’ll catch Southampton.

EARLY TEAM NEWS - SO'TON
Shane Long
and Jannik Vestergaard could return for Southampton after missing last week's win over Brighton with groin problems but both are back in training.
Danny Ings cannot play against his parent club while Mario Lemina and Michael Obafemi are still injured.

EARLY TEAM NEWS - LIVERPOOL
Virgil Van Dijk
has been passed fit to face his former club.
The centre-back sustained a knock to his ankle in the 2-1 win over Tottenham but has trained this week without any issues.
Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are back in full training but are unlikely to be included yet.

Cant wait for this... love the Friday night games, gonna have a kebab then chill out and watch the game, and know that i got the whole of saturday and sunday still to rest.

As for the game..it is so exciting...win and we turn that pressure knife into City a bit more... lose and we all know its nearly over. Oh the pressure ... i think i will cum in my pants....

Makes sense to play Keita, even though loads of people will moan.

He's suited tactically to playing Southampton & if he does have a good game it means we've just gained exactly the sort of player this side has been crying out for at the most important stage of the season.

That's my ideal midfield for a game of this type (save a fit AOC).

A little worried about Gini's energy though. He's played a lot recently.

Who is looking after Macca's streams thread!

FUCK!

I might need to do the leg work myself.

Look at the midfielders. As if any further evidence was necessary that we need more creative drive than that provided by (in the main) Hendo, Millie and Gini.

Jurgen Klopp has been explaining his team selection...
“I just wanted to bring in fresh legs and adapt to the opponent and adapt to the intensity of our game. We have to make decisions for all games and these are the decisions I've made (tonight).”

Agreed.

However if you compare & contrast the full backs from each side it balances a lot more.

As our midfield essentially sacrifice for the full backs, it needs to be taken into account.

Ralph Hasenhuttl told Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville that he has made the decision to change back to Southampton's familiar back three.

Whilst I agree it also makes us more vulnerable to the vagaries of loss of form and injuries. Being dependant on two high quality FBs instead of 4 or 5 high quality midfielders (in City's case).
