AC Milan continue their search for a striker and with Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko looking likely to stay in the Bundesliga they must look at other options. Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been mentioned, but another Premier League possibility is Portsmouth hitman Peter Crouch, according to Studio Sport.

The English international will likely leave Fratton Park this summer, but is waiting to see who the club appoint as their new coach before making a definitive decision. The 28-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions for Portsmouth in 2008-09, after three inconsistent seasons with Liverpool.

Rossoneri vice-president has claimed that the club are looking for a capable target man, but the fans would be unlikely to view Crouch is a viable option in completing the attack after losing superstar Kaka to Real Madrid this summer.

He's a good player. After all, he was never going to score many goals once he left us to play for a lesser side, the only way was down.

Oh.

You mean like he did for Soton? Come on ... Crouch is a good player, nothing more than that - and the fact Milan want him could be more a) because they're looking for a target man who can score an occasional goal and b) their 1st choice target, adebayor - who's not the best goalscorer either, is most likely being priced ridiculously.

I think Crouch will do well in Italy ...

That bit stood out for me. They will be fuming.

I hope he goes and makes a great success of it, he is a really nice lad, and a better footballer than many give him credit for

He would be a great signing for them as he holds the ball up so well and can bring other players into the game. However I would wonder how the Itailian referees would treat him, any time he played a European game for us he was having fouls called against him constantly.

He's fucking shite. Being better than you'd expect for a gangly, middle-class tennis player shouldn't get him a game at a club as great as AC Milan, although it would be funny.

Yes.

With 9 league goals. He wasn't any good.

Oh yeah, that would be when he would barely start a league game upfront while the (then) hapless Kuyt got away with fucking murder.

There were one or two suggestion in the press that Milan couldn't believe their luck when Rafa didn't put Crouchy in against them in "Istanbul - the Rematch" in 2007.

Let's not exaggerate, mark.

Crouch was given ample opportunity to show how well he could slow down our counter-attacks; take fucking ages on the ball, walk the ball back to half way, then knock it back to Carragher; win, but not aim, headers; and volley with his shins.

He was nowhere near good enough for us, Kuyt has proven again and again that he is.
