Generic / Bored / How long until the football's back summer thread, no. 1

I should tell you about the time I met Dreamie.

For those that don’t know, I used to run a pub in Melbourne where Liverpool fans watch games.

Anyway one day, during a game, think it was an early morning KO, I was sort of just standing in my normal area where I can observe what’s going on (and have clear view of tv) - also happens you’d have to go past me to get to the toilet.

This random bloke in his way to the toilet, says something like “that Suarez is a good player” with an Irish accent - doesn’t stop, keeps moving.

Now - there’s a lot of Irish lads that come in for games - and for big games we’re talking 500+ games - early games, not so much - But me presuming it was just another Irish lad who’s been in before and cottons on I’m the manager, I just replied with the usual “yeah he’s done player”.

Honestly can’t remember what the conversation was about - but it was something weirdly inane like that.

And that was it…. Later Dreamie posts on here that it was him that spoke to me - no “Hello, I’m Dreamie, by the way”!!! - nope just a “hahaha that random bloke who spoke to you was me all along”!!!

The next time he was in he posted in the match thread that he was st the pub and where was I… I was working behind the bar in plain view, so no surprise Dreamie couldn’t find me…. And this is where the legendary “Dreamie is stalking you… he’s hiding in your wardrobe” began.

So I’ve met Dreamie… but not really met Dreamie.

Other than that, I catch up with Count every time I’m in Dublin - few big nights there, used to catch up with Ryan O’Hare a bit, but not in the last 5 years (actually more like 10 come to think of it), caught up with Woland a few years back for beers when I was in Liverpool for a few days, met Roopy a few times when Liverpool were over playing (Melbourne & Brisbane) and of course Ross, ILD & Ceberus at the Tayto World Series Deciderin Dublin a fair while back.
