You see, that was your mistake. You should have just paid her what she was asking & there would have been no need to try & woo her with your football knowledge

Well that is the other lesson that I learned. Fifty quid is fifty quid, whether it has come from an awkward, geographically ignorant poor conversationalist or a witty, well-travelled raconteur.

Let's be honest, it's a pretty mediocre list.

Obviously they won the Euros, and all credit to them, I'm not knocking that achievement. But it was a team of grafters who defended for their lives.

I'm just curious why you never see a top Greek footballer. Like, not even world class, just say good enough to play for a CL team in one of the big leagues. It's odd. Maybe there are other countries you could say the same about? I tend to think Russia should produce way more top players given its population.
When you've got beaches and food like theirs you would have to be insane to leave !

Wow, you really are claiming that title as SCM’s woman arent you?

I nearly feel bad for you. Miserable and screaming at everyobne, wanking off to conspiracy theories into your wank sock.
Do what I did ... put him on Ignore. 6CM is a beautiful place now 😀

Let’s all remember he us still aback at this stage. And the Premier League has an almost unique way of challenging even the best.

Like I mentioned in the Lewis thread. We might see Tsimikas get subbed on for Mane.
Also, I've heard that he's got a decent right foot as well, so he might also be ahead of Neco.

I asked a guy I know here who hates Olympiacos so much that he refuses to wear anything red (I'm serious) and he says he's a great player but isn't sure if he's quite premier league standard.

Perhaps Klopp knows...

Interesting that Regulion, who has also reportedly been on our list, is very close to Tsimikas in crossing success. Definitely one of the characteristics we're looking for in a full-back with Lewis being a bit of an outlier.

He definitely looks to use it more than Robbo does. He fakes inside a lot on it and even dribbles with it. I noticed that watching the highlights as its the one area @LeTallecWiz wants Robbo to improve at.

The "Greek football expert" on the Echo podcast, said he has never played any position other than LB, at a senior level

That's the part I am concerned about. His youtube compilations look great. His stats also look great in the Greek league until you notice that the less talented brother of Emiliano Insua comes in as number 2 or number 3 in those lists.

Minamino looked great in Europe against much better opposition than Wolves and Spurs but has been a bit disappointing in the premier league so far. Maybe it would have been better for him to move to spend some time in Serie A or Bundesliga for a year or two before moving to the premier league. The transition from the Austrian/ Greek league to the premier league might be too much even if you are talented.

Love the way the echo had a Greek football expert

Naaah
It was actually quite amusing - they had this Greek guy, who was senior editor of some Athens paper, talking about the player; but he spent most of his time explaining to the Echo reporters how Klopp and Edwards tend to operate in the transfer market, how Robbo & others had all been developed under Klopp etc etc. It came across as really condescending to me

echo journalists being shit at their job?! Not having that.

I love this kind of transfer, had no idea who he was prior to the weekend (still don't really) 24 hours between a journo saying were moving for him and him being a player - smash and grab shite.

Greek, Name I'll struggle to pronounce and youtube videos showing he loves bombing forwards , whats not to like? Although have seen a few journos talking about he will have Robertson looking over his shoulder, I'll be massively impressed if he has the best or top 3 at worst in the world LB worried about his starting position.

Not really TBH. Kir-gee-akos. Most of these names are well within most folks' capabilities if they just let themselves read what's right in front of them.

[Climbs down off hobbyhorse 😀]

Yea but the g is a mystery letter in there compared to Tsimikas. Still both kinda easy I would agree!

Who gets to decide how Greek words are spelt with the Roman alphabet?
