Will he believe again?

The lad seems to score and assist for fun for Holland when deployed further forward.

Is it time Klopp gave him more freedom and let him out of the bottle so to speak?

That might mean taking Henderson’s spot in some games but I think the ceiling is much higher for Gini in that advanced role.

So he could help us win shit?

So we could win the league maybe.

Listen mate. Don't take this personally as it is not a frustarting attack at you. Rather a response to to the fucking idiotic populistic world that think they have good and smart sollutions to everything….

But WHAT THE FUCKIN HELL...… Do you actually believe that if Klopp was just as smart as the Netherlands Coach and used Wijnaldum differently we would have got the 2 extra Points and scored 99 Points last season? Are you insane? Have you ever thought it could be the other way around? What if Gini benefitted from playing under Klopp in a way that he actually lifted his game so he could excell for Netherlands also…. Have that ever crossed Your mind? Maybe The Netherlands, who actually have had some frustrating years, is the winner here..

"So we could win the League maybe".. Read that sentence again a few times and then ask yourself if we did not win the League cause we used Gini Wijnaldum wrong. Ah, if Klopp just had understood how to use him, then everything would have gone smoothly? If it was not due to me being a polite and Nice fella I would really give you a hammering here mate. It is one of the most stupid posts I ever read.

Maybe. It was Henderson who went to him and asked to be moved forward after his displays for England we reaped instant benefits from it.

This thread is like the bat signal for all our crazy posters....

Get out while you can LTW & Insig!!!

He always shines for national side and always flops for us.

Don't understand players like that.

He's been a great signing. He might not show the same level of attacking output for us, but his contribution to how we "work" as a team is immense. He was instrumental in our final push in the Champions League last season.

It's amazing how a team that has won the CL and was only just pipped to the title, is carrying so many passengers like Gini, Henderson, etc. They're all valuable members of the team and squad. Who would fail to see what he gives us as a player? I think he's brilliant.

Exactly. It’s the team as a whole that matters. It’s great to have those gifted players with plenty of individual brilliance. The kind of brilliance that gets plenty of air time on MOTD and YouTube. But you need grafters who keep the team gelling and flowing as a whole. Both he and Hendo do just that, and plenty more.

Our midfield is constantly belittled & taken for granted.

It's very niave thinking, & misses the entire point of how we play so badly that I wonder if the people who do so ever actually watch the match, or simply watch highlights, or just look up from their phones when we're attacking.

I keep meaning to do a big post about the Utd side with Rooney, Ronaldo & Tevez upfront, as the parallels with our current side are massive imo, & that side also had a midfield that was maligned by many, including some of their own fans. I'll get round to it eventually.

The guys played 150 odd games for us and Barca is probably the only game you can think of where he's really shone for us.

1 of he and Hendo must be improved on in summer if we don't fancy Naby

150 games? Are you including the games he played for Newcastle in that?

Yes, he's had one good game in 150.

Fuck me sideways.

You're not listening to what I'm saying.

When you think of the games players make a difference in, Bobby Mo Sadio Virgil Trent Matip near enough every other player you can pick out multiple games.

Can you say the same with Gini, or will it just be 'that Barca game'

What are you talking about? Wijnaldum was arguably our best midfielder last season. He was instrumental in several games.
He doesn't score or assist a lot, so yeah he doesn't get the headlines but there's been several games. I personally remember the 5-1 game against Arsenal last season and the Brighton game in the beginning of last season.

He doesn't score or assist a lot

And this is only down to the role he is given. I was actually thinking about starting a thread myself on Gini off the back of his 4 goals in 8 games for Holland. He's gifted enough to score over a 100 goals in his career and yet the role he plays stitiching together our possession and protecting the team against counters is masterful. He is certainly one of the mentality monsters in this team, Klopp has said as much long before we became the winning machine we are now. Of which, Gini is part of the preferred midfield 3 in games against the most respected opponents.

We're priveledged to have most of our lot, Gini included.

I do actually think Gini might perform better when in the more attacking of the three CM roles, but he also happens to be our best option for the middle of these three (with Fabs as the deep lying on).

Great to have such an asset on our books.

binomial has made a strong move for the mantle of the mong lord in the past while. There's something impressive about his primal monginess. Be interesting to see if some of the competing silverback mongs attempt to resist his power grab.

There's still a power vacuum at the top for a real PowerMong to emerge/ return/ hatch/ evolve.

Binerrrrrrrrmial has always been a strong candidate, bluebell has shown some promise and of course, moron rarely fails to delight, but even those three can still disappoint with the occasional flash of lucidity.

And there's plenty who are merely "really fucking stupid", but it's not really the same thing.
