Thinks he owns the place

He is isnt he? Proper boss. From a shithouse ghost to one of our most influentual midfielders, and you might say one of the best midfielders in the league now.
25 mill was seen as way to much at the time, but looking at it now its a bargain.

No he's Casper the friendly ghost. I wonder who came up with that bull crap?

He's been brilliant this season, he was hit and miss before though and often less influential, sometimes games seemed to pass him by. He's pretty much always great in the big games though. Now he's really maturing into an ever present for us. Fair play to him, he's an endearing guy too, always smiling, always positive, he's exactly the sort of player you love to see succeed.

The ability has never been in doubt, I had a suspicion he'd have a good season.

Great finish against Bournemouth but his shooting can be shocking, imo he should pick up a few more goals a season.

Deceptively, and immensely, strong on the ball. He rarely loses it once in possession so I stop worrying once he's on the ball.

With Keita and Fabinho coming in, I thought he'd be a bench warmer, but it seems like the competition has actually helped him reach another level this year. Milner was great at the start of the season too. Even Henderson has had some really good moments this year.

We need this type of competition throughout the squad. It pushes existing players to get better and maintain/improve their level of performances.

Lijnders talked about Gini as one of the few players able to "switch to a different mentality" and thus play in all 3 positions in midfield and anywhere from winger to a CB really. I wonder, however, if all that switching messed him up a little bit; now that Fabinho and Keita added strength in depth to the #6 and #8 positions I'd like to see Gini continue where he left off against Bournemouth, playing as the most attacking of the 3 midfielders (but still, naturally, able to contribute to defense and pressing).

One of his biggest strengths throughout his career has been making 3rd-man runs from midfield and getting on the end of lots of chances – this is mostly how he scored his 10 goals for Newcastle, including 4 in one game and over 80 goals in Holland. We saw what looked like a return to this version of Gini in pre-season, but then immediately as the season started he had to switch back into the defensive mode to play as our #6 as Hendo was injured and Fabinho not ready. I hope we finally have the pieces in place to put Gini back into that more attacking role, which will allow him to recover his confidence as a finisher.

He could become a perfect player for the role that Sarri is trying to turn Kante into – a physical powerhouse who plays box-to-box, pounds teams into submission with his energy and stamina and contributes with a decent amount of goals. This idea is often found it Italian football – think Khedira, Seedorf, Gattuso, Naingollan, Napoli's Allan and it could be an interesting antidote to Man City's endless array of lightweight tippy-tappy central/attacking midfielders. When Ox comes back, we should be able to rotate him and Gini in this attacking CM role.

We bought him as a hugely attacking scoring midfielder, and he has been remade when you'd think, 'why'? And yet, I think he is wonderful in what he is doing. Him and Fabinho together is a perfect platform for an attacking midfielder to work off them and create a front 4. Love him.

He's like a mixture of Edgar Davids and Clarence Seedorf for me. More Seedorf than Davids though.

Yeah, I always hoped he could be our Seedorf; you can see the similarities due to being raised in the same football culture.

Goldberg, Regensberg, Iceberg - it's all the same thing anyways.
:-D
I always suspected the sinking of the Titanic was a Jewish plot for tax purposes. Now you’ve just done gone and given the game away.

He's perfected the Kenny arse blocking technique over the last couple of seasons.

It's quite a feat to see him turn & shield the ball with his rear end in almost exactly the same manner as the King did, it's remarkable how effective it still is today.

I think I couldnt warm to him because he was fucking ugly.
Our players should be model types, swarthy, dusky handsome rugged bastards. Yer Zeige’s and Benayouns can fuck right off.

Torres, Alonso, Gini.....thats what players should look like.

Or they should look like a cartoon character. Alisson looks like Captain Haddock off Tin Tin.

Peter Beardsley, Steve Nicol ...

You guys are going over the top. Gini has always been good for us since he joined us, but his performances from game to game depend on who he is playing with in our midfield, and the role he has been assigned in the game. But overall he has been the strongman in our midfield, - what I have noticed about him this season more than any other season is his pace over short distance - fuck me he can be quick !!!
