He looked sharper today than any time I've seen him in a red shirt. Cole's good enough to be a back up LW with something to prove, but his wages don't really justify it.

So long as his wages aren't preventing us making moves for someone else then I'm not too fussed. But I suspect that isn't the case.

Forget the wages Squiggs......please

It's all about the money vlad, Joe cole should be sold cos he costs us millions in wages. We should not sign downing cos he will cost about 6 mill too much.

Well in that case why don't we do the job properly and sack off the whole of the first team and buy a load of young foreign kids that cost fuck all and give us nothing - oh yes sorry that's been done. Forget the money look at the bigger picture.
Joe Cole is on big money because he was a free transfer. We still have the equity in him if we decide to flog him.
The fans are still thinking like a small club and thinking like that got us in the fucking mess we were in, thank fuck JH sees it differently.
JC may go, but it won't be because of his fucking wages.

Henry: “Our biggest concern in taking on this responsibility was this issue and it was a bigger issue than we feared. There was a huge multi-year pay-roll for a squad that had very little depth.”

Joe Cole has delivered nothing so far and already cost the club £6M+

If he can recapture his a bit of his old form then he may well be worth the outlay, but there's a reasonable argument for cashing in, and wages are a strong part of that.

Yes he has cost us £6m in wages, and had some shit luck last year. But we could have paid £6m for him , (which would have been a very reasonable price at the time when he could have been upwards of £8 or £9) and paid him an average wage of £40k a week, so by my reckoning we are over £2m in credit as far as Cole goes, we could even sell him for £6m and it's cost us fuck all, there are not many "flops" we could say that about.

Thought Carroll and Kuyt looked off the pace today, Adam and Aquilani did well though I thought.

Not much else I can say about it, the first half team was pretty much pointless, about three of them will see first team action this season.
