Can we allow guests unlimited access to posts? The 10 rule is annoying if you use servers which block registration for certain sites.

The current system is designed to entice people to register and contribute...

I am not sure what the general consensus is with the others on this..

Just a note their is a few forums excluded from this...

Then he can get his coworkers to register at home

The nature of this site is to promote debate and encourage posts. Allowing people to have full access to the forum without registering stops new posters and the site will die

Yep, that is exactly why it was put in place by Sunny in the first place.

Indeed.

It may be annoying but its kinda meant to be.

Once people register, & have to log in they're much more likely to comment on something (obviously).

Well that's the idea.... His problem I think people are unable to register from his place of work..

Unless he also means his work is also blocking the log on process..

Thanks, spot on.

I often have to use such servers and it is annoying.

I am unsure limiting to 10 posts is going to entice people - the more you allow people to view, the more you will enable them to become part of the site.

Finally, it is a good way of promoting our content, unlimited.

Having random guests posting limitlessly without an identity doesn't seem like a good idea at all.

And we would respectfully disagree

Guests can't post, posts are the life blood f this place

Guests don't contribute. They lurk.

They get a 5 page taster, then they should register.

If only people were able to access the site through some sort of mobile device. Then this work server thing wouldn't be a problem....

Not sure about you, but my boss wouldn't be too pleased with me having a phone around and checking it every few minutes.

I asked a question, got an answer. End of story. There's no point trying to belittle me with childish quips when you don't know the work environment I am in.

Hang on, you want it both ways. He wouldn't be happy with you checking a phone very few minutes? I wonder why?

But of course he'd be completely happy if he found you checking the Internet on your work computer every few mins. Of course not.

So of course you've missed the point, as usual. You're at work to work. If something was that urgent on here, which is highly unlikely, then you could use your personal smartphone in the toilet? Or on your lunch break.

Surely they could just create an account on their phone (or home pc) then log in at work?

Anyway, tbh it matters not, we're not changing the rule cos it's their for good reason, & definitely increased the amount of people registering & posting.

This a specialist Liverpool forum I like to think for the slightly more intelligent and mature Liverpool fan... (awaiting smart remarks regarding this..)

Except (insert poster here) 😀

We want to attract top posters to this site and I think this rule helps with that.. The last thing i'd want is for this site to end up like a smaller version of RAWK...

You actually believe that ? What does it specialise in? There's a mightily fine array of swear words I'll give you that
