He comes out of this smelling of roses regardless of what happens , perhaps understandably so given his record. I guess if they actually implode and do finish 4th or whatever , then besides the obvious hilarity there would be a blotch against his record

You know all there is just too much media stuff out there right now almost saying its ours to lose, what the fuck is all that shit ? - I mean there is 2/3 of the season left - that is more than enough time to lose our 8 point advantage. We are in a good position and that is all, we all know that the thing that keeps the team safe is that rock of ours at the back - VVD, an injury to him and it ALL changes in my view. Seriously - the way we have been playing this season I honestly think an injury to him would mean curtains for any title challenge.
Only my opinion of course, but I don't agree. The other CBs seem to have got so much better playing with Virgil, that I reckon any 2 could play some games together without it being the end of the world.

That is far too simplistic. Did we really lose it in Jan? Or by failing to beat city in either game? Or at old Trafford or goodison? It was a season of such fine margins you cannot pin point a single moment where we lost it.

The experience Joe, Joel, and Deggsie, have had playing with Virgil appears to have brought them on a lot.
Factor in Trent and Robbo, the team ethos and spirit, and above all Jurgen, and I would be relaxed if Virgil gets a knock or needs a rest.
