Had a tip-off at the weekend that this might happen this week. Campaigners are at number 10 now.
Word is that they are happy with the outcome, which is basically back to the original draft before the government lawyers tried to water it down.
From what I was told, they tried that and the campaigners dug their heels in. I suspect they threatened to disown it and the government really needs their endorsement. I think MPs and the Lords will be frightened to do anything that weakens it, and I think the government whips will come down hard on any Labour MPs who go there or who don't vote down any weakening proposed by the opposition.
The sense I got was that the families are happy that it's come through intact, rather than being bitter that they had to go another round to get it there, but then that's probably because they have a much greater sense of dignity than pretty much anyone else I've ever met. They are extraordinary people.
