He's shite

When have you seen him play? Not being smart, just curious?

A player like Honda would seriously expose the lack of technique and ability in some of our attacking-minded players.

I certainly wouldn't mind him one bit. Actually I'd be rather pleased with him as I reckon he's got a lot to offer and a lot of abilities we are not exactly smothered with these days.

Hahaha! Like you'd have a fucking clue lid

I wouldn't be so quick to discredit his opinions. Hansern is usually on the money.

Maybe because he has 47 attacking midfielders in his squad, and doesn't actually need him. But he was raving about him at the WC.

Arsenal signed a Japaneese kid today apperantly. Runs the 100m on 10,77 or something and has bags of skill. 17 years old. Arsene knows how to pick the exciting prospects. My Arsenal mate feared he would be to lightweight though, and could possibly end up being another t-shirt Inamoto.

Cheers ILD!!

CSKA Moscow's Keisuke Honda nets a brace while transfer rumors continue. The Japanese star scored two against bottom-of-the table Krylya Sovetov in the Russian Premier League. Wolfsburg, Liverpool, Napoli and other clubs surely took note

Keisuke Honda produced his best performance of the season as he netted twice in CSKA Moscow's 3-0 win over Krylya Sovetov on Wednesday.

Both of the Japan international's goals came in the first half as CSKA cruised to a victory which saw them jump into top spot in Russia's Premier League.

The opener was a thundering free kick, reminiscent of the strike the former Nagoya Grampus midfielder scored in the 2010 World Cup against Denmark. This time, however, Honda's sharp shot went by the near post leaving no chance to Algerian goalkeeper M'Bolhi Ouhab.

The second came as Krylya defender Aleksei Koncedalov sloppily back-passed a ball that was seized by Honda and easily converted.

CSKA took the foot off the pedal, but the Muscovites added a third in the second half, courtesy of Serbian midfielder Zoran Tosic.

Honda's convincing performance surely would have re-awakened the interest of many European clubs.

According to the Japanese media, the Samurai Blue playmaker is likely to leave Russia this summer.

Tokyo weekly Soccer Digest said Honda's departure was '80 per cent sure,' with candidates for relocation being VfL Wolfsburg, Liverpool and Napoli.

Honda has also been linked with Arsenal, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid as well.

He'd be a great signing even if we pay 15M.

He'll provide so much more depth through midfield as he can play on either wing and in the centre.

He is a big threat on free kicks too.

And then there's the commercial aspect of it, it would bring LFC more into the minds of the Asian market.

United did it with Ji-Sung Park.

I just think there are better players out there though.
He's a very good player, technically gifted and works like hell for his team, but he's not going to have people on the edge of their seat apart from te odd free kick.
Then again if the option is either him or Downing at 12m, I'd certainly take him.
