I can see that whoosh sticking Avvy. People usually forget about them after a few days but that one could stay with you forever.

Darren Rivaldo. LOL

This is peter's fault; he's secretly been planning this all along.

Can never trust these fucking accountants.

Another defeat away to Lazio last night, losing 3-1. Will be quite a feat if they make up ground and win the Scudetto. Guess he'll need probably need another silverware to make up for it.

And if they fail in another silverware, there's always chance a match-fixing scandal will hand them the league ;0)

A couple more defeats like Chievo & Lazio and he's toast. They'll go for an Italian - who's that guy who manages England ?

Darren Capello.

Without trying to be inflammatory, i wonder where a sacking would leave Rafa career legacy wise?
Im no longer hateful and bitter, time is a healer and all that and for all the bad (i believe) he did, i wouldnt trade his time here. He brought us number 5 and probably one of my 3 best nights ever as a fan, and he won the fa cup. More importantly he did value the club and the city and understand a lot of what we are. He made plenty of mistakes too and rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way myself included.
Im now glad he was here, but im still glad hes gone, i think he needed too.
But i wonder how he will be regarded if he is sacked by Inter.
His career is odd given the amount of struggles he's had he has still delivered A decent haul of trophies.
Valladolid-Sacked
Osasuna-Sacked
Extremedura-Promoted, then relegated and quit
Tenerife-Promoted and left for Valencia
Valencia-Success marred by infighting
Liverpool-Successes early but sacked
Inter-?

Its sketchy at best buuuuuut how about 2 league titles, 1 domestic cup and a double of European titles as a silver lining.

Is he going to get another top job if he loses this one or is it Midtable Spanish sides from here on in?

Is he doing worse with Inter than Budgie did ?

[/quote]No. He's won 47% of his games to Roys 45%.
Roy would probably suggest he wasnt left the best team in Europe to manage however.

I don't care which manager a team hires there is still a degree of hit and miss. Even the best managers can flop for whatever reason - maybe just not a good fit with that group of players / team.

He has proved he can win the top competitions and for many 2 CL finals will out-weigh everything else and even if he flops badly at Inter another top team will pick him up hoping that for them at least he can emulate his previous success. We've seen it with ' Top Managers ' time and time again, once proven it's never forgotten no matter how many times they bomb after that.

What was the 6cm betting? Somewhere between Xmas and one season?

It just seemed inevitable.

As for Andy's post, I would say that his stock would still be pretty high, and he'll be back in Spain for his next job.

I hope. Wouldn't be too happy if he came back here. Seems a bit wrong.

He needs another Valencia, I think. Good team with no real tradition of winning stuff where he can exceed expectations. Villareal or Sevilla maybe?

I'm sure he'd love to come back to Liverpool, but it ain't gonna happen.

I think Brendan means the Prem generally, and I agree. It's weird enough seeing GH in charge at another club even after all this time.

It is a bit strange, but I think enough time has passed by now to wish Houllier well.

I think Bunny had it spot on with Benitez. He needs to return to Spain and give it another shot back there. The problem he will have, however, is the best he will ever finish is third. I know people said this when he took over Valencia to start with, but the two Spanish giants have improved enormously since then.

I think Man United would be the perfect job for Benitez.

And the sooner he takes over the better

Yeah, but at least no one would argue if he moaned about the disparity in resources then.

I was chatting to god today at the races! He lives in Perth now. Didn't want to bother him but my sister in law is going out with one of the Glory players so that was my 'in' haha. What a nice fella he was too. Shorter than I realized.

This hasnt Really got anything to do with Benitez i just wanted to say it....errrr....I'll always love Benitez for bringing him back to Liverpool.

It's hard not to like Rafa, despite his fuckups and his stubbornness, I think his love for the club was unquestionable.

His words and actions, both when he left and since, have been touching and have changed my reaction to him as an individual. I could never take to him on a personal level while he was with us. In interviews he came across to me as a rather cold, suspicious individual, though I did respect what he did for the club and defended him longer than most on here.

completely agree. Although i still think he's very cold, but for some reason seemed to have a real affinity for us as a club and as a city.

it was his personality that i really loved, that little twinkle in his eye, his wonderfully dry humour.

i'd take that kind of 'coldness' every time over the witless smarm of a mourinho.

i've got my fingers crossed he can turn around the situation he's got himself into at inter, but even if he can't, it won't detract one iota from the wonderful job he did for our club and its supporters.
