..are Sturridge's injuries?

He's a rapid striker, clever, agile and a bit reminiscent of Torres in some ways, he has the World at his feet and if you listen to his managers comments today, he has every attribute to become a World Class striker in the next few years. "IF" he stays clear of injury.

This is a big if going off his record and, such is his pace, you'd have to wager that he'll get the odd niggles with his hamstrings, the occasional strain here and there and at least a monthly absence every season.

Luckily we have two brilliant strikers, but in the longterm I hope he doesn't follow in the footsteps of Fowler, Owen and Torres, who all to varying degrees became dogged by the accumulation of injuries. I find myself wincing everytime he gets the slightest knock in a game.

I don't think those players were affected by an accumulation of injuries. Rather, it was 1 major one that they never recovered from.

I'm not worried about Sturridge. He showed on Sunday that he can get straight back into a game following injury which not many can.

Yeah quite, but I do think the niggles before and after took their toll. Particularly after, when your body compensates for things it can no longer do comfortably.

I think he's just going to be one of those strikers who is always out for 10 games a year minimum with injuries. But luckily he has so much confidence and self belief he doesn't need 3/4 games to get his mojo back.

The key thing was those 3 you mentioned all lost their pace (or yard of it). Once that goes for a striker, 90% of the time, they're finished.

Very worrying, you could argue that if we had him on the pitch against Man C and Chelsea the results might have been different.
It's also one of the reasons I want us to sign another attacking player.

Yeah it is a worry, there always seems to be some niggle or other there, hopefully the medical staff can get on the case and make a difference there.

Stating the obvious but we really need him to stay fit for the rest of the season, he could well be the difference between CL and no CL and who knows maybe even PL Champions and 2nd place.

What's the secret to Ronaldo never getting injured? I heard that his training regimen is designed to keep every muscle in maximum condition each day, so he never has any tears or pulls that so many others suffer from. His stamina and recovery time are also absolutely incredible.

(You could say the same about Messi too until the coaching team changed and he started getting injured again. Before that, he was super-human.)

Anyway, Sturridge seems to be the type who enjoys physical training a lot, so with time he should be able to make his body less susceptible to injury, if he trains correctly.

He's like 24 years old. Will get 20 goals this season. Proven goalscorer.
English

I'd say whatever we paid for Carroll plus £20 million

Regular human sacrifices to Satan.

Obviously.
