What role will the two kids play for us next season?

Both have the capacity to step up to another level like how Sterling has done and Rodgers has proved he can nurture a young talent as well as any manager out there. Are we too prematurely writing them off, considering there are posters who want two new strikers and 10 new attacking midfielders etc?

Is there anyone else other than these two who can potentially surprise us next season? Coady, McLaughlin?

I don't think people are writing them off, especially Ibe, since he's still only 18 (19 at the end of the year). It's just that I think, at this point, folks are looking for more proven/established players to fit into the core group of 18 - 19 players who will play the majority of games.

Folks are looking for players who can step in and play right away and help us push for the title and get past the CL group stages. With nobody other than a small handful of guys having watched Suso play at Almeria - one of them being Modo and you know you have to take his assessments with a pinch of salt given his inclinations to swing to the extremes in his opinion - it's small wonder not many think of him as a possible starter when talking about adding to the midfield options.

He (with Ibe and Teixeira) certainly can belong in that non-core group of 2 to 4 players who can get small roles here and there until he convinces Rodgers that he should be promoted to the core team and play 10 to 15 games. However, he's in the last year of his contract and you've to consider the possibility that he could want to leave because of his dissatisfaction with not having significant minutes. In which case then, we probably will or should consider selling him with some sell-on or buy back clause. Or maybe offer a new contract, and then send him out on loan to a bigger club and see how he fares / develops there for a season.
