Peter the Right Winger posted something interesting -

If Ibe was playing in the championship, how much would he be worth? He seems as talented as Zaha from the little I've seen of both - he's hungry, got pace, strength, a decent final ball and is improving every time we see him out there.

Another excellent youth purchase.

He was the better of the 2 wide men tonight, he could make more of an impact that Raheem did last year...

He's great, but I hope Sinclair gets encouraged, too. When Sinclair signed he was as dazzling and direct as Ibe is now (well, I mean by Ibe's form last season), but, when Ibe joined the club, Sinclair, who's a bit more aware and mature in his movement, started helping him by making runs that created space for him to run into, which made Ibe look very good at the expense of his own chance to shine. So we've got two really promising attacking players there.

Three! It's been ages since we had a fast wide player, then we get three of the blighters at once.

@gene hughes According to Alex Inglethorpe, the u21s coach, he pronounces it simply to rhyme with 'tribe'.

That doesn't sound very Nigerian to me, though. I've heard, and it sounds plausible, that they would pronounce it Ib-é, with the 'I' more or less rhyming with 'ib', if that were a normal English word. I therefore conclude that this is another of those irritating cases where immigrants change the pronunciation of their own names to make things easier for their new countrymen, such as with the tennis players Wozniacki and Lisicki, and I'm left with the choice of overruling their wishes or appearing as ignorant as the rest.

The question I ask myself is 'do I have the right to tell them how to pronounce their own names?' My answer is 'Yes. Yes, I do.'

I like him. He looks a better player than sterling already. Hope he gets plenty of game time next season.

Hopefully this won't be like previous pre seasons when people get game time (e.g. Pacheco) but don't then get much time in the team come the season.

Rodgers has been good for giving the likes of Suso, Sterling etc runs in the team though.
