Do you reckon any of these players can do enough to convince Kenny they are worthy of staying at the club?
Not saying we will rid ourselves of them all, but are there any he might think twice about selling?

Jovanovic
Insua
Konchesky
Aquilani
N'gog
Cole
Degen
Pacheco

I reckon they are probably all done for.

hasn't jova already been told to fuck off?

I reckon aqua, patches and insua could change kennys mind

Just Insua maybe
I think Insua is the best bet mate.

Insua and maybe Aquilani but i really thought we would get about 12 m for him if not we should keep him.

Jovanovic's already a goner, isn't he?

I guess it's only Insua and Cole that still stand a chance. And Insua only as long we don't sign a left back.

Gutted Joe Cole didn't work out. I loved Yossi but the thought of Cole coming in appeased my pain in watching Yossi leave.

His wages we're silly but I thought he might fire on all cylinders and justify it. It has been very strange. Roy rarely used him, he was unfit and then Kenny passed on him too.

Now it looks like we want to rid him off they wage ball but is there not a player inside there waiting to spring back out.

Would like Dani to go back to Norwich for the year and see how he gets on.

Insua, Pacheco & Aqua my favourites to avoid the chop. Though I wouldnt even offer evens on them being here come September.

Jovanovic - Gone I think
Insua - maybe, Clarke will probably re-access him to see if he can teach him to defend. He has done ok with magic so far, so there might be hope for Insua (doubt it though)
Konchesky - no chance
Aquilani - only if he is willing to try to settle in England, its probably more about the players mentality than anything else. Doubt it though.
N'gog - no
Cole - maybe, if we can't get rid then I can see him being an option for us even whilst out of favour
Degen - no
Pacheco - doubt it

I reckon they are probably all done for.

Brave John Terry taught him that.

If we don't buy in certain positions then we might need back up and if these players are around then they could get games, whether they can actually become established players for us is another matter.

Aquilani apparently has the talent to do so, so you never know. Insua is still young and might improve. Tempted to say the same about Pacheco but I think he would need more games which I doubt he will get.

N'gog could do a good job as back up if we don't buy another striker and Cole wouldn't be a bad option to have on the bench I guess

Jovanovic, Konchesky and certainly Degen are done for. Isn't Degen already training on his own?

Lets be honest here. In an ideal world, Kenny and us would like all of them sold. Every fucking one of them.

What will happen though is that about half of them will end up staying for no other reason than no other clubs want the shitcunts. We will then go through a period of Kenny telling us it's great to have them as options, they've settled back in well, utmost professionals blah blah blah.

About the same time we'll have people on here telling us this is a good thing cos they'll provide squad depth, competition for places and already know the club/players/league/etc etc etc.

Guaranteed.

Degen. My god.

Surely he's the worst player we've ever signed?
That is quite a claim. We've had some right old shite.

He'd be one of them though. Given he was bought as a back up full back and has been injured whenever we have needed a back up, that is pretty useless.

When he actually played I don't remember him being totally inept actually.

He said in an interview last week that money doesn't matter to him and that he'd also play for 3000 swiss francs (2000 pound?) a month.

I think we should give him the chance to do so.

Degen was generally poor defensively (not exactly a surprise) but at times looked good going forward, only then to be a total flop at RM when Rafa gave him a chance to stake a claim there. There's a lesson in that BTW for those who suggest playing Magic in that position.

Even so, we've certainly seen worse wearing the shirt. My nomination for the worst ever is poor Nicky Tanner, of whom big Jan Molby was once quoted as saying: "He was sh!t. He somehow managed to come in to training each day and be worse than the day before."

Ha maybe so. I remember that game v Arsenal where Gerrard dropped deeper into midfield in the 2nd half and pinged a 50 yard pass out to the right straight onto Degen's toes and he somehow managed to fuck it up and let it go under his foot and out for a throw. Gerrard's look of disgust afterwards was priceless.

I had some sympathy for Leonhardsen, who had given us plenty of problems playing CM for Wimbledon but came to LFC when dithering Uncle Roy was in charge and promptly got shunted out to RM, where he sank without trace.

I'd give you Leonardson - even though Jules thinks he suffered a little bit unfairly.

No way is Cheyrou in that list though; he had plenty of talent to make it but didn't get the opportunities nor - dare I say - the support from his own teammates.

As for Keane - I can only imagine that there's another player with this moniker in our history escaping my memory.

He was crap for Spurs as well though.

That's true, but his career came to a screeching stop at Anfield and he wouldn't be the first to have been unable to give it a kick-start once something like that had happened. Certainly for the Wombles he looked the biz, as we found to our cost a time or two.

He played in 44 games which was more than enough to show what he could do. He also had 2 loan spells back to France where he didn't exactly pull up trees.

Huh? You think that a player that we signed for 18 Million and had to resell 6 months later for being abysmal isn't worthy of being on our list of worst ever players? In my mind, the list of worst ever players needs to take price / expectation into consideration, and Degen was a punt whereas Keane was expected to hit the ground running.

If we had had to resell him for being abysmal then your argument would hold water. Since, as we pretty much all know, that wasn't the case then the argument fall on its own sword. Not only did we not have to resell him but the reason we don't have 19 titles just now is down to our insane decision to discard him in the January window.

I don't agree. He was abysmal and has continued to get progressively worse since we sold him. Spurs have also been bitten as well and will never get the 12 Million they paid to resign him back.

No question, and there were others around at the time of whom the same could be said, e.g.McAteer and Scales. Unfortunately we became something of a graveyard for good players under Uncle Roy.
