We've signed Coutinho for around 10M, Can for even less (whatever you think of him, he's worth 3 times more now), Suarez and Mane for reasonable money, Matip on a free. Signed Sterling for 600K from QPR and sold him 5 years later for £50M. We've also identified, but failed to sign a number of other quality players, like Willian, Salah, Diego Costa, Ousmane Dembele etc, all of whom would have been bargains at the time. It's been far from perfect, but I think generally the only area where quality of scouting was truly the problem was with our Spanish/Portuguese department – all misses and no hits since Raul Meireles.
