He's been trying that more and more, and was waiting for him to lash one in.

Both he and Trent should be looking to add a couple goals next year, and I expect they will.

I saw Wales started Harry Wilson over David Brooks who had a great season at Bournemouth. Weird one.

Tuned into the extra time of the england game to hear the commentators apologizing for the format of the competition, and bemoaning the fact that they had to sit through 30 minutes of extra time in a 3rd place game for nations league.

Martin Tyler also questioned if TAA is good enough defensively to play in a back 4.

If there's one thing these last two Engerlund games have done for me, it's convinced me that I won't be going the match next season. They've turned it into a made for TV sport and killed all the passion with VAR. Thank fuck we had such a great season, but it will be my last watching it all at Anfield. Pick and choose my games from now on.

It's funny coz it's England suffering, but it's shit because the sport has been ruined.

I have to say that seeing VAR in action over many games has completely changed my opinion of it. I thought it was just implementation, and that certainly doesn't help, but that's not all of it.

All football is is tension, stress, unbearable and then these huge moments of relief and joy. That's this entire season in a nutshell too. VAR is like a luxury tax on that joy, reducing its immediacy, and its paid most heavily by those in the ground. Football isn't THAT great a game in between. A lot of it looks like this fucking horrible game on right now.

Yeah, Northern Ireland have Germany next. Gulp. Followed by Holland away. Then Holland home. Then another game against Germany.
