Is anyone a bit bored of top-level football?

All the fucking politics, all the fucking business. It's not about the game any more.

It's become really fucking quiet on here, as it is in many other places (even Anfield).

Have we become bored of all the bullshit? Every time after a game we mess up there are plenty of posters making great, salient points that seem easy-to-address. Will they be listened to or cared about by any manager? Will they fuck. Will they be listened to by any of the shareholders or any members of the board? Will they fuck.

It's time to take back our game, our beautiful game from those money-spinning, kangaroo-court corrupt bastards at the FA, FIFA and boards all over the country who siphon the money loyal, hard-working fans cough up week in, week out to see their team turn up. But they don't any more. Every match we see players struggling to give a shit, players moping miserably as they miss chance after lethargic chance, knowing full well their bank accounts will be topped up aplenty regardless.

How do we stop the blazers at the top who don't have a clue? How do we make FIFA be accountable to all the racist shite they leniently give a stern telling off to?

I'm sick of every game, every build up not being about the beautiful goals, the terrible tackles and the calamity mistakes. That's what makes football so great, the unpredictability and the hope that your team will carve that chance from nowhere, rifle an unstoppable shot in from 40 yards or just get a poacher's effort from 2 yards out. But if every game has that 'feeling' where it isn't about what might happen on the pitch but who said what to who and who does what off it, we lose everything that's great about the sport we all cherish.

Fuck Sky, fuck inflated fees and complaints about *only* getting 100K a week. Fuck John Terry like he fucks everyone else and most importantly, a massive fuck you to Sepp Blatter, you huge whopping cunt.

it's time to fight back.

I think we are more bored than other, as we are in a "transition phase". We accept that we dont have to be good for the next few years (which is exact what were not the last few years) and then ignore that we a few seasons ago were in our second CL final in 3 seasons. The lack of interest seem to be down to Fernando Torres loosing interest in footie, and Rafa growing a bigger nose than cock (or was it a belly). Anyway... from there it all went down. Apparently Kenny Dalglish was the biggest muppet in modern sport a year later and all we still dream of is a team of Carraghers (which would personally drive me into a slow but still relieving suicide).

I have to agree. The only reason I still go the game is the social side of it, to catch up with the many friends watching Liverpool has brought. Plus I want my son to experience those highs I've been part of. You can never turn your back on your team however disillusioned you become. You'll still hurt when they lose, be made up when they win. But the game is dying, it's no longer a working man's sport, it's a business and as such any morals are dispensed with for the buck. However, I do strongly believe we are part of a family that's different from most clubs, that won't take any old shit and will voice our displeasure and try to cling to some modicum of decency.

1. Feel your pain but there is no way back.
2. Revolution in football is a thing of the past, apathy is now the coin of the realm.
3. Money rules and money will kill club after club.
4. FIFA's edict on racism is to punish those that can't fight back and token gestures for all those that contribute to their coffers or their political strength.

Football as it used to be and as it ought to be is dead, we are just waiting for the coffin bearers.

Football is still as football always was. 11 guys against another 11 guys on a pitch.

If you're going to spend hours of your life on forums, reading various news outlets and watching Sky Sports then you can't really complain about the over-saturation and distractions from the game itself.

"Time to fight back"... what a load of fucking cheese.

I'm bored of the soap-opera side of it.

Is John Terry/Suarez a racist?
Will Ferdinand wear a t-shirt?
Will players shake each others hand?

Most of that is the medias fault, rather than the games, but it does piss me off now more than ever.

It's love/hate man, deal with it. Mamma said there would be days like this.
As said before, you're just upset with how we're doing. We've had it relatively good
until the last few years.

Money has this effect on everything. If you want to save football it needs to become amateur only again.

If we were challenging for the league/top 4 would you seriously care?

It's only because we have been rubbish for a few years that all these side issues seem to matter now.

Like LFC itself, football today is like a house your family used to have that is now inhabited by total strangers who aren't very nice. It's best to block the whole thing out.

Do yourself a favour and go for a walk round the park on a saturday afternoon when the amateur leagues are playing and watch a bit. It's just nice to see football with very little nonsense surrounding it.
