who gets a suspension?

Tottenham Hotspur have clarified that Sebastien Bassong will be available to face Liverpool on Sunday.

There was confusion among Spurs fans that the recent signing from Newcastle could still be serving a two-match suspension following his dismissal against Hull last season.

A statement on the official Spurs site read: “However, given he served the first game of his ban against Aston Villa on the final day of the previous campaign as a Newcastle United player, it meant the suspension continued to apply to Newcastle United games and was therefore satisfied when his former club visited West Bromwich Albion on the opening day of the Championship season on Saturday.â€

We hope that now clears the situation up!

Unless they delayed confirming the signing officially until after Newcasltes match it seems like bullshit, although if he was still registered as a Geordie on Saturday then fair play..

When some United player got a yellow yesterday Tyler said something like "yellows in this game don't count towards accumulated figures in terms of suspension, but do show on the players records".

Well what's the fucking point then?

If he was still registered as a newcastle player yesterday then the suspension is done.
