I think it's OK to suggest that 2/3 of season played and some very uneven performances, would make it hilariously premature to label Wijnaldum, Karius or Matip as "successful" just yet.

There's an unhealthy amount of backing going towards some of Klopp's signings. Proper blind, CDNW faith.

It's like the whole fracas over the suggestion that we could do with a goalscorer, and the ridiculous "only hard-working, minimal scoring attackers fit this system" counter arguement. It's pointless, stupid and incredibly myopic. The ridiculous notion that the current managers way is the only way, that everything they do is unquestionable, and every criticism is completely unfair doubt. They get stuff wrong, all of them.

Has anyone actually said that we can only have a hard working minimal scoring attacker in the team?
I thought most were in agreement that we need a new top striker this summer.

I think there is a case to be made for clubs like Juventus, Roma, Sevilla, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Porto and Benfica. They rarely seem to do much wrong when it comes to scouting and signing players.

Juventus, Porto and Benfica have certain unique advantages which I think will not translate to us. Porto and Benfica have the ability to bring in SA talents due to the lax work permit rules and take advantage of that. We cannot do that.

Juve have a monopoly over young players in the Serie A due to their dominance. They have 55-58 players out on loan in Serie A. Chelsea whom everyone complains of having too many players out on loan have close to 35 in comparison. Because of the lack of competition in the Italian league, they are able to offer CL football and domestic trophies which makes it easy for them to compete for players like Morata, Eto'o.

But Sevilla and Dortmund are the ones we should really focus on and learn from. Of course, Sevilla have the Latin American advantage too but their ability to pick unknowns from Europe and make them look significantly better is very very good.
