Liverpool are set to move for another Tottenham Hotspur target after their deal for QPR striker Loic Remy collapsed.

Spurs have been tracking Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez for some time and with the arrival of his former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane, it was expected that the deal would be pushed through for the currently injured England striker.

However, after the deal for Remy fell through, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has turned his attentions to Rodriguez, with Manchester City also believed to be interested.

If Liverpool were to sign him, it would be the fourth Southampton player to switch to Anfield this summer.

No ta. I can't see it happening either.

If we really must raid Southampton again, we should go for Clyne.

Would much rather Ings over Rodriguez. They'll both cost a similar amount I'd expect and IMO Ings would represent the better investment.

If anyone is going to have an insight into this deal between a Merseyside club and one on the south coast of England, it's the Hertfordshire Mercury.

Is Jay Rodriques that much better than Borini anyway?

Has one club ever signed three or more players from another club in one season, never mind one transfer window?

Read that he's out injured with a cruciate knee injury until October. How can he take/pass a medical with that?

I really like him as a player (I didn't want us to sign him) so it's a shame he's going to Spurs.

Yeah I've no problems with him as a player but I think we've used up our Southampton quota for this window. Plus I'm hoping we sign someone shit hot. Wishful thinking I know.
