Martinez has cautioned against expecting too much too soon from Jesjua Angoy, the grandson of legendary Dutch star Johan Cruyff, who signed for Wigan from Barcelona in the summer.

Still only 18, Angoy became a YouTube star this week with a spectacular goal in a Lancashire Cup tie against Preston.

It brought immediate comparisons with Cruyff, generally regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

But whilst Martinez accepts Angoy has quality, he needs to bulk up before he could be let loose in the Premier League.

'He is only a boy,' he said. 'It is going to be two or three years before he has adapted to the physical side of the game.

'But he has great ability. Tactically, the boy is a joy to watch. I don't know where he gets it from.'

I'm wondering if there's a typo and whether he means 'Tactically" or "Technically".

Possibly, but I suspect what he was trying to get at may have been "...at his age".
