Job security - arne

What do well all think Klopp would do with this team?

Personally, I think he would reverts us to a 4-3-3 again and get us to become pressing monsters again. It fell apart towards the end as he didn't have players with young legs.

I see him playing a front 3 of Gakpo (LW), Isak (CF) and Ekitike (RW). Height, legs, strength and pace. It wouldn't be pretty football, but it'd be direct and effective.

A midfield 3 of Szobo, Gravy and 1 of Wirtz/Macca.

Klopp would make changes, I'm with you there.
But there's no chance in hell he'd bench his little darling Salah. 🤣

Slot learned from Coutinho that his system didn’t work with a flair player in the midfield.

I don’t think he’d have the line up looking that different. He also never dropped Mo.

I think he’d make the midfield more robust and demand more from the full backs. I’m not sure he’d play Isak, he saw with Darwin that his approach didn’t work with a CF. Ekitike is more like Firmino (good touch, hold up play, unselfish) than Isak.

I think it’s a pointless comparison, as Klopp doesn’t have the energy, passion or fight to turn around the mentality of this squad.

It's around this time I start calling for us to get Benny back, but he just went to Greece.

I've heard that sung a few times before it all went off, back in the eighties. Last time I heard it properly ringing out was on the train out of Athens in 07.

like they say in health and safety rules are made with blood, it cost points and trophies for klopp to learn those things. i suppose it’s only fair to allow slot to learn from his own mistakes but at the same time he has been quick to disregard some of the klopp / premier league ways.

honestly feels like the psg match opened his eyes to something that’s maybe not a good idea with the current squad or the premier league in general.

i’ve never shaken the feeling that he has ridden on klopps coattails thus far but this season is where we’re going to find out if he can do it on his own.

Arne Slot speaks to TNT Sports. “We couldn’t find the rhythm [in the first half] … the second half was a joy to watch … the first thing I said [during the break] was we don’t have to speak about tactics if we lose so many duels, and that’s what we did … not that Jarell lost every duel, many of us lost too many duels, but we needed Konate to win these long balls through the air … that helped and gave us control … they were playing all over the pitch one v one and I don’t think they could keep that up in the second half.”

So it was tactical to take Quansah off? “Yeah.”

Yet he still kept half the cunts out there on the pitch yesterday.

It's mourinho tactic. Move to a new club, pick a player who's liked by the fans but not essential, make an example, move on. Fans immediately are "oh wow he's not fucking about". Persists with players who are shite

Apparently, in the last 28 games going back to March, we've won 14. Drawn 2. Lost 12.

He's in trouble.

You were the one who poss the hypothetical scenario of what would have happened if we had finished fifth. I responded to that. You have not responded to the question I posed.
Every man and his dog predicted a massive decline and rebuild job post Klopp. We are effectively 4 months into that and cunts want to fire the man who gave us a title and was the reason some of these world class players signed for us. The shortsightedness is beyond baffling.
